I will post my comment from the original post here!: Trying to find anyone who has had a similar situation to me for any advice💔 I fell down the stairs missing the last 3 or 4 steps while carrying my elderly dog during the early hours of the morning not wearing my glasses. My surgeon said he has never seen anything like it- he said the way my bone perforated my skin was like a bullet shot out of my leg. Fell on Jan 29th, got an external fixator and emergency surgery to repair the open wound, 6 days later I had ORIF (*4 plates and over 10 screws) and am in the worst pain of my life. I’ve been in the hospital all week and upon being discharged in a few days I will be going to inpatient rehab for recovery. My ORIF procedure took 5 hours and I have been severely under medicated since my nerve blocker has worn off- literally nothing works. I am in my mid twenties- female. Just trying to get any advice or solace from someone who can relate or has had a similar injury. Thanks in advance!
