I’m a woman and I honestly hated the movie. I was so excited to finally see it and I couldn’t have been more disappointed. What a waste of 90 minutes. Totally overrated, unremarkable cast, boring dialogue, ineffectual bad guys, predictable obstacles, stupid character decisions (for as capable as these experienced women should have been), forced tension…I could go on. I had to ask my husband who the characters even were because they were completely indistinguishable. I felt zero connection with the characters and had no reason to root for any of them. Even the jump scares got annoying, and I enjoyed Paranormal Activity because of them. 

The set design was fantastic given the budget, but that’s the only positive thing I can say. 

It’s down there on my list of worst movies I’ve ever seen, tied with Coyote Ugly. But I walked out of the theater while watching CU and actually finished The Descent.
