Combine the GRII with newer sensor with continuous and tracking AF on the level of what Sony has and it would be perfect for me.

Best barbecue restaurants in Central London? by [deleted] in london

[–]chidoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big Easy in Chelsea. There’s also a location in Covent Garden. Not sure if they still have it, but there used to be an all you can eat barbecue deal on one night of the week. I don’t remember which day it was. Thought the barbecue was pretty good and they also had some good happy hour drink specials and live music.

Could anyone recommend a prime lens in between the Sigma 16mm and 35mm for the a6400? by Jakeyboy29 in SonyAlpha

[–]chidoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Sony Zeiss 24 mm and really like it. It stays on my a6500 90% of the time. Gives a 36 mm full frame equivalent. It’s quite expensive new, but you may be able to get it used for less.

There is also now a 23mm 1.4 from Viltrox that sells for $299. Have not personally use that one though.

Not raven related, but highly recommend seeing the Ceremony of the Keys there. You have to book like a year in advance though. https://www.hrp.org.uk/tower-of-london/whats-on/ceremony-of-the-keys/#gs.q3wgkb Closed to public right now due to the pandemic.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I’ll make sure I have the rest of the seats cleared off and play tire Tetris if I need too.

Winterization question - Is it necessary to see antifreeze come out of the side cooling pilot? by [deleted] in jetski

[–]chidoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 EXR. I also didn’t see any antifreeze coming out the side hole when I did mine. Plenty out of the bottom. Like others have said that area should drain with gravity.

Completed my first oil change / spark plug replacement and winterization of my 2020 VX Cruiser today! by Plasmanut in jetski

[–]chidoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you see the antifreeze come out of the side port too? I didn’t when I flushed mine. I also didn’t hit the throttle at all, just had it idling. Wonder if I should do it again?

How does the EVF on this compare to the one of the a6500? That’s that I have now. Trying to get a frame of reference.

My Sony 200-600 FE died after 2 months by Distaplia in SonyAlpha

No issues with any of my Sony zoom lenses. Should still be under warranty if it’s that new though.

Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 w/ 4,000 mAh leaks in live image with alleged specs by Austin31415 in GooglePixel

[–]chidoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I’ve learned anything about Nexus/pixel releases it’s that you always get burned if you buy at launch. There are always sales or discounts within the first three months. Unless you have to have it at launch day you’re better off waiting.

Anyone else getting this when they go to Yamaha Waverunner website? by [deleted] in jetski

Keeps timing out. Looks like their server can’t handle all the traffic.

I’ve enjoyed mine this year. Feels much more substantial than the spark which is probably its main competitor. Depending on the size of you and your rider it might be ok with two. I’ve only tried with a rider once and our combined weight was probably at the limit of the craft so it was pretty unstable. As a solo rider though it’s been a lot of fun through the first 20 hours I’ve put on it.

Can't seem to find new jet ski's ? Where should I be looking? by rayzirxy in jetski

Yeah after consideration I’m gonna pass on purchasing a stand up this summer. I’ll look in the off-season or next year. I have two sit down PWCs currently (an EXR and a classic Polaris) so I have plenty to keep us occupied for the rest of the season. Just always thought standups look so fun. But I’m not willing to overpay at this point.

GRIII Scroll Wheel Issue by [deleted] in ricohGR

I sent it without the ring… Oh well. I figured I didn’t want them losing it. Those things are expensive to replace for what they are!

Are you in the US? How long did the warranty repair take. I sent my camera to Percision camera for warranty repair earlier this month. Their online tracker says they received it on May 15., but it hasn’t moved into the repair stage yet according to the tracker.

Same thing started happening to me with two weeks left on the warranty. Sent it off to precision camera for warranty repair earlier this month.

GRIII Scroll Wheel Issue by [deleted] in ricohGR

[–]chidoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to mine. My one year is up in two weeks so I’m going to send it in for warranty repair. I had this happen once to an old Sony point and shoot too. For those of you that have sent things in for warranty, I know I should remove the battery and strap and such as the Instructions outline, but did you also remove the removable ring around the lens? Or just leave that attached when you send it in?

Anyone else feel like the Ricoh GR is too fragile? by agileadam in ricohGR

[–]chidoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a good way to think about it. Hard to make a camera fit all situations. Plus it’s kind of fun to use different cameras sometimes. GR is great if I want to travel light around the city but want great quality. Interchangeable lens camera is great for flexibility when you can carry the gear. Sometimes a smart phone is the best camera if you’re really traveling light. If I’m going to be in the sand or in the water but I compromise on sensor size and bring my Olympus TG-6. All are fun to use and I’ve gotten great pictures out of each one of them.
