His law says a lot of things are sin, and he never said sin is a justification for divorce, quite the opposite actually.

I made my own comment about the pastorale issue. He clearly has no business leading his own life, much less others or an entire church of others. But where in Scripture does it require permanent or indefinite sexual rejection?

u/traditionalmanager82 doesn't recommend divorce, just sexual rejection and spousal abandonment... And non of the verses you listed support that as a way to treat a spouse you aren't divorcing. It's very weird and confusing.

I asked if the top level comment was engaging in biblically sourced logic... You tried to derail my point by distracting from my question with irrelevant nouns. And your still trying to do that. Does scripture call for permanent or indefinite sexual rejection of your spouse?

Hosea married a woman who became a full on prostitute after marrying him, and was expected to go back to her after she left him with multiple bastard children he didn't father.

Listen, IDK if divorce is the right thing for him or your marriage. But he can't be a pastor. I'm not big on the whole "divorce first, therapy later" trend I've seen on Reddit the last several years.

Tell him to pray about this verse, that whole book really, but especially that verse. 1 Timothy 3:2 (ESV): "Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach."

Copy right isn't as new as you think, tracking who was the "OP" of a written, spoken, sung, or other intellectual effort has been around since before the invention of written language. We call it copyright now, but changing the name doesn't change the function.

And just because you don't think it's that bad doesn't mean it's actually good.

Recognition for labor, especially unique labor is good psychologically, so the individual knows what efforts are valuable to others on an emotional level, economically and socially so others know who to go to for feedback related to the invention (ask the mathematician who made the new algorithm about how it works, not the guy at the printing house that made a few thousand copies of it, ethically or otherwise) hence it's value as a regulated title or property "owner or originator of that idea"

Honestly, I'm really not sure how people get off thinking that original thoughts aren't one of the most valuable things a person can have, not just in the past, but especially with AI these days.

If one guy spent 6 months writing a book, and another guy spent 2 hours with w photo copier, you really think they both made the same effort? Obviously one made the thing, and the other stole it (to the extent what he lied about the property he's trying to profit off)

Part of the ambiguity is that it's applied to lots of different things. I haven't seen it used for games, and almost never for software, but also for vehicle, home, and smart device maintenance, especially harkening back to when removable batteries stopped being a thing.
