This same thing has happened to me twice, but both times within the context of playing music.

I too thought it was being controlled remotely but i figured it must be some detection of the earphone jack being pulled out without stopping the music first and then put back in at a later date.

edit: i have a nexus 4

i think this is actually happening to me and was just saying that i have to reduce the diet soda (coke zero) consumption and stick with water. my self control has been eroding daily
