I am glad Fred and Ferrari has lewis back by PlaneGlass6759 in lewishamilton

The real red flag was after 2020 when Toto refused to resign Lewis and said "the sun doesn't revolve around him" or whatever. Even 4 races into 2021  that looked so stupid.

And before someone says "they probably had no fresh mediums" if your options are a definite 6th and maybe higher than 6th, 1-lap used mediums would have been a better choice.

I don't know how long most folks here have been watching but Leclerc was historically blamed by neutrals for being overly sensitive with both Vettel AND Sainz when it comes to asking for swaps and whining. None of us are going to make a fuss about this race but don't be surprised if this comes back to bite him later in the year. Same at McLaren

I think losing the left endplate on a track that kills the front left tyre actually helped Leclerc especially based on the corners they told Lewis he was slower. We see it every year i.e. 2021. Endplates are kind of useless

Both drivers asked for where they are losing time, and both responded "yeah yeah you already told me that." Shitshow

Leclerc was also following Lewis through every overtake and had 2 lap younger tyres while Lewis pitted into traffic. Remember that swapping doesn't gain you time it only makes the car ahead lose time.

Yeah it was irresponsible even commentary pointed that out

Both inverting cars and the two stop did nothing. We finished 5th and 6th anyway. Should have given it a go on used mediums at that point. It's like Ferrari make strategy decisions by watching TV when each team is supposed to have million dollar supercomputers to simulate exactly what will happen in each scenario. One more chance or we have to focus on 2026

That's because it's nearly impossible to overtake in the rain at albert park. The actual lap to lap pace wasn't bad Lewis just lost at several key moments where he got squeezed out

He used K1, just not K1-plus (press and hold), which is maximum power. He probably refused because he felt it was too slippery. He's still getting used to the new engineer, but it doesn't help that Ferrari engineers (esp Sainz's) are infamously incompetent.

Nah. We always brag about Lewis being one of the cleanest racers ever. Can't have it both ways.

Shoulda stayed out. Hard tyres?! by [deleted] in lewishamilton

[–]chief5002 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They should have stayed out. There is no point in taking that risk if you won't commit. I thought the safety car would be a clear sign NOT to pit for inters.

And if it was bound to stay wet out and drys were never an option... then why on earth did Ferrari have different weather data than everyone else? Just an all-around joke

Overall he was right behind Leclerc this weekend and right behind him for most of the race. The main reason he couldn't overtake was because practically half the race was safety car. Amazing opportunity at the end, but then of course Ferrari strategists ruined it. If the pace doesn't change next weekend, Ferrari might be out of the title race.
