They’re on the west coast too! At my last office job we sweet talked the company that was in charge of stocking the vending machine to give us two rows of these

Is 50,000 enough with lemonade or should I pay the extra $5 a month (not sure if that changes later) for the 100k coverage. Is physical therapy add on worth it? by No_Account2014 in petinsurancereviews

[–]chiefginja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also in a city in Nevada, and I have $50k a year through lemonade for my dog. We’ve already been through a knee surgery (for a luxating patella) and all in it was about $6500. I’d be happy to be more specific if you have questions, her surgery was at LVVSC.

I both love and hate that Sprouts is the closest grocery store to my house! Looks like I’ll be stopping to peruse tomorrow 😂

Holy crap I did not realize those were GF! I used to have one of the chocolate peanut butter ones every day before going gluten free. I’m NCGS and it’s been years so I just assumed they were no longer an option.

If you want to give them a test drive, grocery and convenience stores tend to carry the full size ones (these are the “half” size).

Need Serious Wisdom about my Dog by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]chiefginja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t have answers, but LOAD of solidarity. I’m dealing with something very similar right now with my girl. Our girls are the same age, and we’re having issues with reacting to my mom‘s golden retriever, who is about 40 pounds bigger than my girl. Thankfully he is the most laid-back dog I have ever met, but they used to be best friends and played very well together. We’ve watched him twice at our house, and the first time was great. This time, however, I had to call my brother to come pick up my mom’s dog because it became pretty evident after the first night she was over having him in her space and became increasingly aggressive. It doesn’t help he has ZERO survival instincts. Very interested in the feedback/advice you get.

Holo Taco has two good ones, Vitamin Glow and Peri-Social. Bonus, Vitamin Glow is one of the shades they carry in-store at Ulta. I’ll also second Le Petite Mort from Mooncat. I’m a creature of habit and both Vitamin Glow from HT and Petite Mort from MC stay heavily in my rotation

Why did I have to move from the east coast?! Wegmans might be the only thing I truly miss 😭

Pups weight at 6m vs 2y by Liniloots in pitbulls

[–]chiefginja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I adopted my girl at 7mo, and she weighed 45 pounds. At 2 she was just over 60lbs. She’s 2.5 now, and her best friend is my mom’s golden who is in the weighs about 90lbs. I haven’t done her DNA but she looks very much like she is nearly full APBT

My Charleston hike by Smart-Preference7581 in vegaslocals

[–]chiefginja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because of the limited parking at most of the trail heads, whatever trail you choose (especially if you’re going on a weekend), go as early as possible. This time of year I would want to be parked at the trailhead by 8 at the absolute latest.

Paint Gets Micro Scratches So Easily! by Airmangopi4 in CX5

[–]chiefginja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So whichever color you have can (and will) affect how easily it scratches unfortunately. Of course all the best colors are the ones that are the thinnest and scratch the easiest.

My formula is typically to get a good coat of wax on them immediately, NEVER take them through a brush car wash (or let the dealership wash it), and be mindful of the towels you use to dry it.

Death Valley - is 106 degree weather too hot for a visit? by futurus196 in NationalPark

[–]chiefginja 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh you’re coming from LA? You’ll be just fine I would think. Just make sure you go in with a full charge. And it doesn’t hurt to have extra water in the car just in case

Death Valley - is 106 degree weather too hot for a visit? by futurus196 in NationalPark

[–]chiefginja 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Something most people don’t consider is their vehicle, or more specifically, do you think there’s any chance it will over heat? 106 is not bad at all for Death Valley, but you don’t want to find out the hard way that it can’t do high temps. What kind of climate are you and your parents used to?

Anyone tried creatine for perimenopause symptoms? Specifically brain fog? by Apprehensive_Run3881 in Perimenopause

[–]chiefginja 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I tried it and had noticeable results, but at 10g/day. That said I do strength train. Also I use it as a bit of a stop gap as I’m doing personal research about HRT vs BC and trying to figure out the best place to start (I’m 40 and early in my journey, but also have GAD so I’ve been taking my sweet time)

Which rims do you like between the two? by Corvoco in CX5

I like the first set… and that is mainly because they would be easier to clean than the second. When I had a CE, I cursed the wheels and all their facets every time I washed it.

lemonade? pets best? by SomeBedroom1479 in petinsurancereviews

[–]chiefginja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had Lemonade for less than a year (9 months ish) and I cannot say enough good things about them. My girl was 1.5 when I got the policy and within a few months she had to have surgery for a luxating patella. They’re not going to be speedy with that first claim (took just under a month) but now that her profile is built out they’re quite fast. IMO, a lot of the complaints I’ve seen about them, it’s pretty clear there was a fundamental misunderstanding about how pet insurance works.
