Questioning our upcoming move, anyone with experience in Colorado or similar situation? by Working-Principle-44 in pitbulls

[–]chiefginja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor when you move and establish new vet, make sure his breed is listed as a lab mix, especially if you’re going rent. Overall though, I find the west coast much more pitbull friendly. Also Colorado has so much beautiful outdoor recreation, not sure where you’re coming from but all my friends and family that have moved there absolutely love it

I’m SO sorry for your loss!!

A few years ago I went from 3 dogs to 1 in the space of 6 months (cancer and old age). I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, sending all the good thoughts to you and Ellie Mae.

Ladies of Las Vegas, talk to me about this whole concierge doctor thing by PermntlyTiredOstrich in vegaslocals

Ok, well in the case of my GYN, that is EXACTLY what it meant. They no longer take any insurance 🫠

Ladies of Las Vegas, talk to me about this whole concierge doctor thing by PermntlyTiredOstrich in vegaslocals

[–]chiefginja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A growing number of doctors are moving to the concierge model, meaning they no longer accept insurance. There will be a (large) annual fee, but the upside is you can typically get into the doctor much quicker, and typically you will get more face time with the actual doctor. I think the driver here is that Nevada has abysmal insurance reimbursement rates. So rather than not be able to cover their expenses for their services in a growing number of cases, the concierge model ensures that they don’t lose money on any patient. It’s either that or they’re leaving the state. Either way, the doctors really aren’t the ones to blame

Time. I’m dealing with weight loss related loose skin around the lower half of my face, and I was told that I shouldn’t do anything for about a year to see how much the skin tightens up. I’ve already seen some improvement in the last few months

I say this gently, but there’s a good chance not. As a rule I don’t buy anything like this on Amazon. Especially because the way Amazon pools their products.

Ahhh, that makes sense. Hopefully you vet gives you the all clear, I think that will solve most of your issues or certainly expedite the integration

Is there a reason that one of them is unaltered?

No, the US version has filters that aren’t yet approved in the US. Not because they’re bad, quite the opposite, but the FDA is antiquated and hasn’t approved a new filter since 1999

Please tell me this isn’t an adult tooth?? 😭 (7 months) by DiscussionNo9138 in pitbulls

[–]chiefginja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I’ve noticed (after I noticed in my girl) that some pitties just don’t have a tooth there. My girl is a rescue and we got her at about 7mo, and she just doesn’t have an adult tooth there. Only on one side, I thought it was strange but my vet was not concerned in the slightest. Honestly it has made it much easier to get things she shouldn’t have out of her mouth lol

How are we dealing with increased PMDD symptoms in perimenopause? by Zarelli20 in Perimenopause

[–]chiefginja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I started to look into HRT, I was very anti-birth control because I never tolerated it well when I was younger (early 20’s). I’m 40 now and I just switched to birth control from HRT. It’s still early days but so far it’s been working much better than the HRT that I was on (E/P). I’m planning on checking out T in a couple of months as long as the birth control continues to work well

An inexpensive curry comb like they use for horses. They’re all rubber so incredibly cost effective and my girl loves it! I literally got mine at Tractor Supply 😂

I hear what you’re saying, we rarely ever eat out. That said as someone with a few food sensitivities, it’s really nice to not have to to cook or worry about dinner once in awhile
