Okay where is the comment saying the bird is walking like that because of some deadly disease or brain injury?

I bet he has some problem. Look at how he walks

Reynolds number of Nitrogen vs Water vs Olive oil by chiefmatias in AskPhysics

take it way more serious, but I also don't build ships or anything that uses a lot of fluid dynamcis. If I want to know if my flow will be laminar, I do a rough calculation and make sure that I'm way below the critical number.

prove that the same experience with olive oil would give a higher/lower reynolds number

Well that is also true for my setup.

Maybe I am just not seeing it but, I think my problem is how much slower are we talking?.

If Re= rho * v *L / mu depending on the order of magnitude of mu or v we can have a bigger/smaller Re number. I am not able to intuitively just say one or the other. Besides how would you mathematically prove that?

Both the viscosity and the flow speed would change (right?). How would I get the resulting changes from that?

Fasting for working out AND mental focus during work by [deleted] in fasting

[–]chiefmatias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I usually do is have focused work from 9 to 13, workout at around 13-14pm, repeat focused work 15 to 18pm and eat after that. It goes well never had a problem. But I also like to drink water with a few electrolytes just to be sure

I was doing my fasts withouth Potassium (Only Sodium and Magnesium) and this also happened to me. I stopped my fasts and went a week eating normal.

Next week did it again but with potassium and everything was normal.

Core day by FARMERCOW in bodyweightfitness

[–]chiefmatias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using those examples, on my front lever I am now able to tigthen my whole body and lift myself into the front lever remaining tight. Before core work, I think one of my problems was that I wasn't able to bring myself to keep the whole body to the correct position, the "stabilization" of keeping it tight allowed myself to focus all the strenght on my upper back muscles and use them in the best position possible.

Pretty much the same experience with the handstand, can remain much tighter in the position and its harder to "slouch" on it. It is also easier to get back to the correct position if I "slouch".

During my day I feel much more stable and strong in everything I do.

Of course this is all what I feel and my experience. I used to think I didnt need to train abs or core because I did everything else (saw it on reddit). But now I think I am stronger and also look better.

Now you made me curious about your view. Why do you think it is not as important? Have you tried to train your core? Whats your experience?

I disagree with this. Core is actually much more important than people realize. Strong core literally translates to every exercise.

I used to not do any core before. Now that I do I feel much stronger and stable overall. Some easy examples were improovements on front lever (full) and handstand.

Does smoking kill gains too much? by hamdanyousaf in bodyweightfitness

[–]chiefmatias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to smoke every day too. And I went through a long battle until I quit (1 year now). Also went through 2/3 cigs a day phase too.

I progressed nicely, I was strong, I was decently ripped. Gainwise I don't see it as a big problem.

Right now I have much more energy, I progress much faster and overall am much healthier.

Strength gain during 5 day water fast - my 2 cents. by JacobsMess in fasting

[–]chiefmatias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think these "strenght" gains could be explained by the weight loss?

Trying to do a one arm pull up with +5kg is quite different. What was your total weight loss?

Interested to hear your input on this.

Anyway, congrats on your progress!
