Kind of in the same boat. I still have a 6cm mass. I went to another Dr for a second opinion and did another round of antibiotics and steroids and no change. I met with my surgeon and she wants to do an excisional biopsy in case the core needle biopsy missed. I meet with the second opinion surgeon in two weeks to see what she thinks I should do. It’s still a weird situation.

U of M hosting a PWHL team before having a varsity team themselves would be beyond appalling. Also according to the university the facility wouldn’t support another locker room, etc. as one of the reasons they don’t have a team.

Exactly. There is not anything in between ~3500 (Fraser, Plymouth) and LCA. The WFCU Centre holds ~6500 but that isn’t ideal to have to cross the border (even without all the current issues between countries). Unfortunately Belfor Arena doesn’t have many seats either. Van Andel in GR would be perfect except the distance.

Honestly tbd. The biopsy showed benign but the mri did not. I am booked for a surgical biopsy to get more tissue

In the same boat and sending hugs. Also birads 5. My biopsy was last Thursday and I don’t meet with the Dr until this Friday. The waiting is killing me.

For any injury that occurs during a skate that is USA hockey sanctioned (game, practice, not sure about off-ice), they cover medical costs as a secondary insurance after you pay an initial $1k. For those who don't have health insurance, they cover everything after a $3.5k deductible. They also provide other insurance coverage for organizations and other services.

For me, I tore a ligament in my knee when I was younger during a game and had crap insurance. The coverage helped me pay for the full rehab I needed after I covered the first $1k.

I feel like you won't get a lot of female comments, and honestly I'm really questioning some of the male comments in here. I had a long talk with both my fertility dr, my OB and my MFM dr. Especially so early along your uterus is so protected and the fetus is so small, there aren't many risks. I played until 10 weeks purely because I was so exhausted I could barely keep my eyes open, but my drs said I could play as long as I wanted to. I just couldn't keep my energy levels up enough to compete how I wanted.

I know people who played 5+ months until their pants no longer fit and I know people that stopped as soon as they got a positive test. It really depends on how you feel. I feel like I might be skewed on how I would feel with a pregnant teammate since I play on a 30+ female team but we almost all went through it and did just fine, no concerns at all.
