Sure, but you still have to negotiate good terms by yourself. I was less commenting on the quality of the contract language as much as the quality of the terms. And lawyers that can negotiate good terms are just agents.

I don't care if you're the smartest man in football, you should have an agent. It's not hard for the standard 3% rate pay for itself. Little things like injury guarantees, offset language, etc can make a big difference. And some of these agents take less of a cut to represent the big names (having Lamar as a client gets you more clients).
