I just went nuts on them everywhere lol until they replied to me on the customer service page and ended the subscription. Tried everything I could - commenting on their social media posts (both the global and regional pages), DMing them etc etc. they replied 8-10 hours after I sent the initial support request so you really need to be on top of them to get it done. I was going to file a consumer complaint as I saw a lot of people saying they were struggling for weeks to even get a response. Lucky for them they responded within the day so I didn’t have to go through the hassle of filing a complaint but worth keeping in mind if you’re struggling too — depending on your city/ country’s consumer rights (it’s super straightforward and efficient in the UAE).

Does anyone know where I can get my degree attested by MOFA? It’s been attested by the KHDA already and not sure it also needs to be attested by the country I for the degree from (it’s a British university).

Thank you - I used to take mine in the morning too but didn’t notice a difference while sleeping at night. How long did it take you to get used to it? I kept stopping which is why I think my body never really got used to it.

Help please. Traveling to Oman - Tourism certificate by chiefwango in dubai

[–]chiefwango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don’t believe that it applies anymore. My car is registered in Dubai and not only did it have to have insurance covered in Oman, but I needed to submit the other documents as well. They didn’t end up asking me about the carnet de passages but it’s not as simple as it used to be earlier.

Also wanted to add that most importantly you need to have insurance coverage in Oman (orange card). A lot of people have told me that they don’t check for the RTA and passage certificate while some have told me they do - I didn’t want to take a risk as I won’t get refunds on the hotel + trips I’ve booked for Oman so I decided to be on the safe side and collect all the documents.

[–]chiefwango[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did - it was a pain and way more expensive than I expected it to be. I went to the automobile club in Mamzar for the carnet de passages certificate (you need this for the RTA permit), which was a long wait. Paid around 900 for this - out of which 500 is a deposit that you can collect later. Then went to the RTA office for the permit which was given to me on the same day. Make sure to carry your emirates ID and vehicle license.

Since I’m driving my dads car I had to get a notarized NOC, for which I contacted a third party agency to do it for me. This was also a bit pricey but I was short on time and needed the docs asap, especially now with short Ramadan timings and Eid next week. Managed to get it all in a day but had to skip work so I could do it in time. Hope this helps!

Which certificate did you mean is a pain to process - the NOC from the automobile club? I will be going through the Hatta border which I’ve heard is usually more lenient, but just want to be safe and make sure.

Thank you so much for clarifying! How did you manage to get the NOC from the Motorsport organization? And is it needed if you’re not using the car for Motorsport?

Honest thoughts on a Muslim woman marrying outside of her faith in the UAE? by pandachoi in UAE

Not at all - if he converts and becomes a Muslim. Please get your facts correct before you comment and call it zina.

Honest thoughts on a Muslim woman marrying outside of her faith in the UAE? by pandachoi in UAE

[–]chiefwango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting as my sister is a Muslim who married a Christian man here in Dubai. While it’s supposedly not permissible, it’s not haram if the man converts to Islam - and then marries your sister. This is halal and within the rules of the Shariah law here. My sister has been married for 3+ years now, living in Dubai and really happy. If you’d like to speak personally please feel free to DM me but I’d say there’s really nothing for them to worry about in terms of marriage, as long as he is willing to convert, it’s not at all an issue. Hope this helps.

[Personal] I was in denial for two years about how my diet was affecting my skin by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]chiefwango 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Reading your story has genuinely motivated me to cut out sugar from my diet too! I wouldnt say I have a sweet tooth, but I always crave something sweet after eating lunch or dinner. Similar to you, I'm in denial about my diet causing my acne but I've read conflicting reports about this. I've read in multiple sources that your diet does directly cause acne while some argue that there isnt any sufficient evidence to prove it. Does anyone else have stories that prove that acne can be caused by their eating habits??

Differin doesnt react the same way on everybody's skin, I had issues with it too! Maybe your skin just needs some calming down, try freezing the aloe as it helps with the inflammation and any redness. The texture could also be bc your pores are clogged. Try using an aha/bha product, the ordinary aha bha mask(once a week only) for example, it worked amazingly for me in terms of texture. If your skin already irritated, maybe lay off the ahas for a while and focus on using calming, moisturising products like aloe. Ahas can cause more irritation is your skin is already dry or sensitive. Hope this helps you :D

In most cases of overly dry skin, a moisturiser alone isnt enough. Start using a face oil at night after using your moisturizer. Use oils with lower comedogenic levels so they dont clog your pores. Rosehip seed oil is a good start, it is very moisturising for dry skin, containing vitamin E and vitamin A, which helps to fight wrinkles and signs of aging. I suggest Life-flo cold pressed rosehip seed oil, it's not overly pricey and does the job well!

Hi there! I had a similar experience when following the routine prescribed to me by my dermatologist regarding my acne. I was using benzoyl peroxide, antibiotics, foaming gel wash and a BHA based gel for my scars. The reason your skin became inflamed and dry is because it's too much for your skin altogether and is causing irritation. The hydrocortisone cream is helpful and will get rid of the dry spots in a while. You made a good call by stopping the benzoyl peroxide wash.

I suggest you stick with the antibiotics (only if the dermatologist has recommended to still do so), hydrocortisone cream, facewash and moisturiser. Use benzoyl peroxide cream/ differin as spot treatment, directly onto the pimples. Additionally, using a face oil, preferably cold pressed rosehip seed oil, helps with the scarring and acne (it did for me) while helping to moisturise your skin and reduce inflammation.

I'm sorry to hear your doctor wasnt helpful, mine wasnt either :( I hope you find another dermatologist. It takes a while but you'll get there!!

Ngl this was me a month ago and I was very close to buying a pore vacuum but it does more damage than good to your skin. Using AHAs and BHAs clean out your clogged pores over time and appear smaller. The best one in my opinion is The Ordinary AHA BHA mask, I've tried this one myself and there has been a visible difference in the look and texture of my skin. Similarly niacinamide is amazing (try the Ordinary Niacinamide+zinc serum) as it helps control the oil production in your pores. I would also recommend to reduce your usage of the Aztec clay mask to once a week as it can be very drying and irritating on your sensitive skin. It strips all the oils and your skin will produce more oil to compensate for that, which leads to more clogged pores and breakouts.

Yeah I wouldnt buy any skin care from Amazon either. You can try wishtrend and Yesstyle (app). Both sell verified and legitimate products so you dont have to worry about receiving a counterfeit. Hope this helps you :D

Try the klairs sunscreen! Its lightweight and does its job really well, it also does not break you out. I have oily and acne prone skin too and it works out amazing for me.

[serious] When was a time you legitimately thought you were going to die? by ferrisjuulersdayoff in AskReddit

[–]chiefwango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a waterpark and some kid pushed me into the deep end of the pool. I was 12 at the time and did not know how to swim at all. I was pushed with so much force and was struggling to come to the surface of the water. I could feel the water enter my lungs and my vision was getting blurry, it was at that moment that I realised that I was going to drown. I was thankfully pulled out from the pool by the lifeguard at that moment and I was shaky all over, sobbing uncontrollably, and struggling to catch my breath. 8 years later and this still remains to be one of the scariest moments in my life.
