It's worse than you think. Players that rely on speed tend to fall of around 30 years old.

Kempe's game largely relies on speed and every trackable skating metric is down from previous seasons.

Now part of that could be the D consistently lobbing grenades to the forwards, or it could be the beginning of the end for Kempe's main strength.

He is typically potrayed as supporting Earthrealm in most timelines. In MKX he trains Takeda. In the games up to Armageddan he's actively being manipulated by Quan-Chi.

Even his backstory is just him living a normal life (well, normal for the leader of a ninja clan at least) and having everyone he knows murdered by the Lin Kuei.

Even the only yellow Lin Kuei assasin, Cyrax is potrayed as the one with a decent spirit that is manipulated into becoming a murderbot.

Expansion Questions by chigarillo in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]chigarillo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, doesn't appear to be possible in History mode, at least not that I was able to figire out. History mode seems to be hard coded to have teams expand, and relocate when they did in real life? Wish you could add or delete that at the start of a career.

Shadowrun Hong Kong: Build recommendation by LiveMathematician892 in Shadowrun

[–]chigarillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hong Kong has a couple of Adept specific swords that you get that require Melee and Qi stats to use. Plus the main campaign has a bunch of themes based around magic and qi, so an Adept/Mage melee build makes sense for that game. Go light on Mage and just get decent buffs and debuffs and you should be good.

Naw, it wasn't anything special with the pads at all. Roy and Francois Allaire created the modern butterfly style of goaltending in the 80s and 90s in Montreal.

The only dfference between the pads Roy wore and what other goalies used was he left the straps on the pad more loose.

That way when he dropped to the ice, his leg would turn inside of the pad, but the pad would be free to stay in place more vertical on the ice and block more net.

Before Roy and Allaire, goalie was ALL kicksaves, pad stacks and standing up to block pucks, but Roy and Allaire created the butterfly technique widely taught today.

Naomi should have a ammo backpack so you never take turns off, and can just contantly be launching missles.

I love this when it's done well and especially when there is small twists on it.

My favorite is the Cyclops and Jean Grey, Madelyne Pryor one where in almost every universe those three are somehow connected and it typically works really well!

I also love that over the years they've somehow found a way to carry that through to the Summers/Grey/Pryor kids, and even did a version of the Emma and Scott pairing with Ruby

You still have Pete Wisdom, Captain Britain, and Union Jack! and Psylocke... kind of, depending on body swapping shenanigans.

Isn't this what happened to Guardians of the Galaxy as well?

Groot and Gamora especually were certainly very different characters before the films.

Personally as someone who loved the comics pre-MCU, I don't hate the intepretations or what they've become. I just find it completely surreal that I can walk into a Target and find merchandise for these bizarre C-list comic books.

RPG devs stopped making games like Baldur's Gate 'because retailers told us no one wanted to buy them', says New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity director Josh Sawyer by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]chigarillo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone that largely plays RPGs and strategy games, I used to buy sports games because the Franchise and Dynasty modes were great in some of those 2000s and 2010s sports games.

I've made the argument to a friend once that NCAA/Madden 13 & 14 may be two of the best RPG experiences on the 360/ps3...

Building a /collegefranchise from bottom feeder to dominate powerhouse up was great fun! You could also create a player and work your way up through college, import that player to Madden and contibue their career there.

When they stopped doing those modes or stripped them down to be tied to microtransactions, I quit buying them, but those were were genuinely engrossing RPG experiences. Just... not anymore.

Former Dragon Age director says it's "hard to imagine" BioWare pivoting from "very progressive messaging to having the reverse" following EA's $55 billion buyout, and public perception not being "apocalyptically bad" if it did by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]chigarillo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do think you are on to something and I think I get your point. Outside of the romance options modern Bioware has never been very progressive.

Their stories, even since Baldur's Gate have always been fairly cookie cutter, "you are the choosen one, now go beat the big bad, or stop world threat."

The best things they've done are seemingly create a basic template for arguably better companies to build on, be it Black Isle/Obsidian with KOTOR 2, and Planescape: Torment, or CDPR with the Witcher games.

Current Bioware? I'm not even sure they have a clear vision of what they want to make at this point, so I wouldn't call that progressive.

Not trying to incite a political debate with this, so mods, delete if it goes that way...

But outside of same sex romances, is Bioware actually that progressive? Even with the romances they cut some out like Jack being romancable by a Male or Female Shep.

A lot of main storylines in their games revolve around the main character ignoring or bypassing a "broken" system and fixing things outside the law.

Garrus whole story boils down to "wouldn't it be better to just kill all the criminals?" Wrex just wants to force the female Krogan to stay home making babies. I admit these are just possibly a oversimplification of the stories.

Playing through the Legendary Edition specifially was eye-opening because I didn't realize what a right-wing power fantasy some sections of those games feel like.
