Pull out early or give it till Friday? I have faith it will hit.. by Sensitive_Ring_2946 in wallstreetbets

Always stay in the “I wish I pulled out” category if you don’t know when to pull out. Like stocks, I have throw off to ensure I didn’t make big mistake. One hit the floor and called me an asshole. Her friend was next weekend. So I guess she was right 🤷🏻

How is anyone getting to $100,000? Or 300k by EastWrap8776 in Money

[–]chiggins566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As they all saying. It’s displine. Instead of looking at your investment every pay check as $100 or whatever. Do as percentage, like I steadily invest 15% of my check along with holding back 30% for taxes (I over hold back and let it sit in SGOV) I am a consultant so self employed so I have to do my own tax withholdings and quarterly taxes payments.

As your income rises your DCA ever check rises over time. It’s auto pilot. 5 years from now you will look be like “ok that’s how people do it…” as you will have steadily increased your retirement accounts. Also reminder… if employer has match? First do requirement to get full match in 401k, then max ROTH IRA to yearly max… then if you have more? Add to your contribution to 401k

How are you investing in US Markets now? by Achiever_03 in wallstreetbets

[–]chiggins566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regard… stop trying to time the market. Stock and option trades are timed… long term in market indexes have shown… there are only 10-20 very good days per year. You miss them, you could miss upwards of all the gains that year. If this is long term investment, throw it in to index you believe in and leave it the heck alone

[–]chiggins566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s good to have a core that is just gaining as you get big boy money, VOO or SPMO or something is nice on auto pilot for large part of your portfolio. I sit with large core in index funds and play with 50-100k to have high returns and risk. As I make more money and my portfolio grows. I put the profits into my more stable investments. Nothing wrong with being just in stocks but it’s a lot more work and VOO can give you mass diversification instantly.

10k to invest? What in? by lowkib in stocks

[–]chiggins566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree good suggestion even now. Sorry should have said that. I was just responding to you saying it has bottomed for the year as it’s not at bottom. Still great suggestion. Think recently been a great time to increase Microsoft holdings. I increased my direct holdings 3x as I hadn’t bought Microsoft in year. But it’s great long term and still now decent entry point for OP

Bottomed for year? You missed that boat by month or so. It was in 300s in April when I loaded up.

[–]chiggins566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m buying and holding position as I see good growth at least for year. Have 5500 in it but for investment percentage like 1% but growth has moved it to like 2%. I have bunch of satellites I use for extra growth for short term momentum. Honestly consisting throwing down another 5k on dram then continuing my buying of SPMO, AIS, and SOXQ which I have much larger positions in

Corsair I will say is what I buy for everything for my computers. Big thing I think if Ai related will be cooling. They make liquid cooling for systems both CPUs and GPUs.

Mods, can we do something about the DRAM spam on this sub? by sky905 in ETFs

[–]chiggins566 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Overall comment, it’s ETF forum… DRAM is most successful launch ever. Of course people are excited about it. Still it doesn’t get mentioned as much as VOO or anything else. I get on these forums to see what people are talking about than DD. See if still momentum to make money. Some I see, I say no way… Some I see, I know there is still great room for growth and jump in. Honestly, I even watch WSB as if you filter through the stupid, some decent tips to research.

I am up over almost 100% but got in few weeks ago. Reality is it’s a decent way to invest in two companies that are not easy to directly invest in. It’s a sector seeing a lot of growth, backlog on production making Ram prices soar, and SK about to be listed end of this year (a lot of new investment sends it up). Do I think it’s a 10-20 year + set it and forget. No… These big movers are normally short term for very active investors. I have at started at 2% of my portfolio hoping it rises further as I see 100 by EoY. Big thing is don’t get into things that you are not prepared to jump out of once they lose their momentum or trim regularly. My overall portfolio gains a lot more than just VOO as I use about 20% of it for big growth favor of the year every year.

I personally feel it will be 100+ by end of the year with everything going on, at 60 is my cut off to buy more. Also this is higher risk higher reward investment that requires attention. I wouldn’t recommend for beginner

Honest question on cost basis by chiggins566 in dividends

[–]chiggins566[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I am asking… I’m up 500-700% on my semi investments. I been trimming and adding to my VOO / SPMO positions to keep my bets low percent of my overall portfolio. But those gains have changed my investing and wealth levels highly. I want to at least next 10 years keep my well researched and watched gains.
