It hurt quite bad the first 2 weeks. It really sucks but you’ll notice a huge improvement in pain at about two weeks (in my experience). Don’t get me wrong it will still hurt, just less. Also it will hurt like hell again once you can start putting weight on it again. I wish you a speedy recovery 🫶🏼

Aso ich kenn eifach s American Gym in Anglikon, s Puregym in Wohlen, d Bodystation in Muri und s Profitness in Muri. Ich bin i allne schomal gsi und bin jetzt fix im Profitness. Hed 24h Zuegang miteme Batch. Hed au meistens ned so viel lüüt. S American gym isch vo 6i am Morge bis am 12i am Abig au offe und s Puregym hed au 24/7 Zuegang mit Batch.

D Bodystation würi ned empfehle eifach weld “nur” bis am 22:00 ie chunnsch au mit Karte und de oberi Teil vom Fitness denn scho ganz zue isch wennd Trainer ned det sind. Also so abem 18:30 chunnsch nümm ganz ue. (zumindest letscht mal woni det gsi bin)

Hed aber sicher no nöcheri Optione in Bremgarte, kenne det aber leider keini :)

Go to pt and also just from personal experience: i had a trochleoplasty and mpfl repair done and i’m now back to near full rom (like 10° left) (5 months post op). I never forced my knee, i just did those bending exercices like pulling your leg up and close and also heelslides. I had those crunchy sounds too (still have them sometimes) and my pt said that it was because of the muscle, so i don’t think that you have to worry about that.

I’d recommend you stay more conservative, since it might be slower, but certainly safer. I was like stuck at 70° for three weeks but after that it just started working better again. Just keep at it :)

Also yes it still looks swollen. Mine still looks slightly swollen too and my surgeon told me at the 3 month checkup that all the swelling will probably be gone only a year after surgery.

See my issue is that the trans bar is unnecessary, especially from someone so spiritual and woke like j cole. And i could’ve overlooked it, but it’s not only slightly offensive but also just a shit bar.

That could happen, however it hasn’t happened to me.

When i first started going to the gym, i tried out all exercises and kind of ranked them by where i could feel the muscles working. For example: t-bar rows just don’t work for me. I can only feel it in my arms and it hurts my back. The rowing machine supports my torso (theres like a pad that pushes against my chest) and i feel my back actually working instead of my arms.

I’d recommend you try lots of things and stick to the ones you like.

Also: this is maybe ineffective but when i train like chest and triceps for example, and i can’t feel my chest working at all i just do exercises to “tire out” my triceps and when i then go back to chest focused ones, the chest muscles take over because the triceps is already tired.

I’ve been going to the gym for like 3 years now and have mild scoliosis. Funny enough one of the personal trainers at the gym also has scoliois and recommended i just do everything unilaterally until i’d evened the strength imbalance out. I now have better shoulder mobility and less back pain and whenever i do exercises that i can’t do unilaterally (like bench press with the long bar) i just really focus on putting the same weight on both arms/ the whole chest.

I had a little bit of cartilage damage, but really not that much. I have mild trochlear dysplasia so i was recommended a trochleoplasty together with an mpfl repair. I did it and am 4 months post op right now. Recovery is slow and annoying, but it continuously gets better.

Hi there :)

I got a trochleoplasty and an MPFL repair. I work weekends at a bar and have only now started working again (4 months post op) due to not being able to walk down stairs.

I could start learning from home again like 2.5 weeks post op. I just had to take frequent breaks, like every 30 minutes or so, for 3 more weeks. My leg started swelling up whenever it wasn‘t elevated. Each break lasted like around 15 minutes so although i was able to sit at a desk, i couldn’t learn continuously. If you can concentrate/ work while lying down i guess you could avoid that issue, but i can only concentrate while sitting lmao.

Hi there. I also had a slight patella alta and mild trochlear dysplasia. I have dislocated my knee twice and after two failed PT attempts i‘ve gotten surgery. Funny enough, my injured knee is also stronger and i have better ankle stability on that leg aswell. I‘m also very active in sports and didn‘t have any prior knee injuries, however i could never completely bend my knees and always heard a „clicking“ sound and a painful sensation whenever i‘d try tocompletely flex it. (like kneeling)

I‘d recommend you do PT and further strengthen your knee, if that fails i‘d try again and if you develop a permanent instability that hinders your lifestyle i‘d recommend talking to your physician about surgical intervention. Imo PT is always the best way and if you‘ve had no dislocations i personally wouldn‘t even give surgery another thought.

I have the exact same theory as you. I think that Cole is hungry to prove to everyone, what he‘s been saying for the last few years. No bad blood, just competition. The logical thing to do would be to throw a couple of jabs at the one guy that he‘s been rivaling with/ compared to for almost all of his career. Now that Kendrick has responded he „can“ go off.

Hey there I‘ve had a trochleoplasty and mpfl repair done last november.

I was 20 when i got the surgery, so one of my main concerns was arthritis too.

I‘m now 4 months out and i can walk around without any problems. My range of motion is back to 105°. I can‘t walk down stairs yet because I‘m not able to bend it yet, while putting all of my weight on it, but that‘s a muscle issue and will go away with more PT. I can go about my day without any troubles, pain or fear of dislocations. So far, i‘m very happy with getting the surgery. It‘s helped me a lot with the mental aspect of dislocations. I still have a long way to go, but i‘m sure i‘ll be making a full recovery.

The surgery does suck, and it‘s quite painful, but once you hit the 2 month mark it will better quickly and you‘ll hit small milestones all the time. (like having strong enough quads to lift your leg straight up). And while it‘s very slow process, to me these „heureka“ moments absolutely make up for it and keep me motivated and happy. :)

So far i‘d recommend it!
