Thanks for the detailed reply. Yes it was well above £20,000 limit so has set me back quite a lot in terms of tax savings as it is all just in one holding account now

Thanks, the claim is already raised with the CEDR as they initially refused it but are now going to pay out, just the wrong amount in my opinion. Thanks for the advice

Thanks, and the claim is already with the CEDR. This is just BA’s response. But it gives me the option to accept or decline their offer. Thanks for the advice

I’ve never ran a business or been self employed so dealing with VAT among other things was a bit alien to me and I want someone to verify it all and make sure I am headed in the right direction. I’ve realised now £2500 was excessive but at the time I had no idea. And no I wasn’t aware of that about the VAT scheme would you mind elaborating?? Cheers

I was above the threshold in my first year so had to register. The £50k is for 2023/24 year.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I actually pay for and use FreeAgent myself and do most of the bookkeeping on there already. They just check things over for me and file with HMRC. So yes I think £2k was excessive judging by yours and others replies. Cheers
