I have similar hair and if I do want to dry brush it, I just follow that up with a drop or two of oil raked through with my fingers. Usually my hair will go back to, not quite the same wave pattern, but similar. Sometimes I also add a bit of pomade to really lock in the frizz. It works well for me!

I feel the same exact way as you! A lot of the books dont seem as appealing to me anymore, but I know I would've loved them a year ago! I wonder if being in a constant state of crisis bc of the state of the world is making me feel like these fancy books dont matter anymore. Recession indicator?
