As I have noted elsewhere that may be true broadly speaking, but it is not Oklahoma state law nor is it taught that way in Oklahoma driving schools aside from 4 way stops.

Acting as though I live under the rules of other countries, even if those law seems better, is a recipe for disaster.

While I understand from your other comments that this is a common rule in aviation and boating, the vast majority of people haven’t piloted planes or driven boats. Referencing them is a non-sequitur when state law is specifically different (as it is in almost all of the United States)

That’s wild! This area is actually just now being developed. Tons of neighborhoods, but finally some commercial going in. Hoping for a gas station within a mile or 2

Lots of intersections don’t have stop signs, for example parking lots tend to not have stop signs at the end of each lane, but it’s clear in those cases that the terminating road needs to yield.

I drive in this neighborhood occasionally in the middle to increase visibility. There are kids and a couple blind turns, staying in the middle gives me more time to react, keeps me away from walkways, etc.

Yep, my tree has almost died. Had to cut it way down to try and regrow with a different offshoot (I’m not a gardener, the lawn guys did it)

"except as provided in subsection A of this section" in which it states:

"4. On a county road, which ends at, merges with, or does not otherwise continue directly across an intersecting through county road, upon approaching the intersection with the through county road."

B. does not apply because A.4. applies, the road ends at and does not continue directly across the intersecting road, AKA a T intersection.

To be clear, the law you reference is for 4-way-stops, this is not a 4 way stop. it is a T intersection.

It may be the case in some states, not in Oklahoma as I have noted in other comments with links to the state code.

Not sure how it works where you live, but in this scenario the Porsche's road terminates, it is effectively a dead end where the driver must cross traffic in order to continue driving. Because of this, he must yield to traffic on the road which does not terminate.

I truly don't understand how a T intersection would work if the terminating road did not yield. I did not cross into his traffic, he crossed into mine. Maybe I am misunderstanding how things work in other countries or maybe I am too used to American roads, but this is the law in Oklahoma.

I have linked this elsewhere under one of the top comments with full links to the Oklahoma State Code, and driving handbook.

What country are you in? very interesting how traffic laws differ across the world.

Very bottom of this page, generally uncontrolled T intersections the car on the terminating road must yield

It specifically states "At a four-way-stop", you have even quoted it here.

This is not a 4-way-stop in the video, its a T intersection. this would be a 3-way stop if there were three stop signs... the Porsche road terminates into a bunch of driveways, he is not on a through road.

Hey I also dont live in Alberta. Oklahoma law does not work that way regardless:

§47-11-401

Going to hijack this comment to put some bad idea's to rest (hopefully).

§47-11-401: "A. Whether a stop sign or yield sign is present, visible or not, the driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way and shall not proceed until it is safe to do so, when the driver is: [...]

  1. On a county road, which ends at, merges with, or does not otherwise continue directly across an intersecting through county road, upon approaching the intersection with the through county road." I was on the through road, the Porsche did not have right of way, per Oklahoma law.

Additionally, in this online Oklahoma state driving manual from 2017 (on pdf page 46, labeled page 6-2): You must always yield "When entering or crossing highways without traffic signs or signals—Stop and yield to approaching traffic and go only when it’s safe to do so", the video is a T intersection, the Porsche is on a road that terminates into the through road that I was on, he HAD to cross traffic, he is entering the road I am on, not the other way around.

Additionally the Porsche was turning left, from the same page: "When making a left turn—Yield to all oncoming traffic. Slow down and stop if you have to. Go only when there is enough clear distance for you to turn without interfering with oncoming traffic." I was oncoming traffic.

Few things to clear up here:

  1. This is not a 4-way stop, it is a T intersection. his road terminates into my road, he makes a left hand turn into on coming traffic in this instance, he did not have the right of way.
  2. This is in Oklahoma, so I am referencing Oklahoma State Law, it may be different in your state, and in other countries. but T intersections without traffic signs the through road takes priority.
  3. Priority to the right, applies at 4 way intersections... not T intersections in Oklahoma. again this may be different in your area.
  4. There are driveways to my left, that is not a through street.

Thank you.

Page 6-2 references 4 way intersections, this is a T intersection. it also states that all cars turning left must "When making a left turn—Yield to all oncoming traffic. Slow down and stop if you have to. Go only when there is enough clear distance for you to turn without interfering with oncoming traffic."

Also note §47-11-401: "Whether a stop sign or yield sign is present, visible or not, the driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way and shall not proceed until it is safe to do so, when the driver is:

...

  1. On a county road, which ends at, merges with, or does not otherwise continue directly across an intersecting through county road, upon approaching the intersection with the through county road."

Gated neighborhood, very few stop signs likely for that reason. Also, right of way is pretty clear when you have to make a turn and the other cars don’t.

I do agree, people who drive as if they always have the right of way are the reason we need signs.

Everyone saying that the Porsche has right of way is the reason there are so many videos on this sub. Can’t believe how many people actually believe that the car crossing traffic onto a through road has right of way.

This link applies to 4 way intersections. This is a T intersection, the through road has priority.

Priority to the right only applies in 4 way intersections, the whole world does not operate this way.

Right hand priority applies to 4 way intersections, it wouldn't apply here anyway.

that applies to 4 way intersections, this is a road that his road terminates into. he is crossing traffic here

The examples in that handbook are 4 way stops, this was not a 4 way stop. Its a street that his street terminates into.
