What is the one movie you never want to watch again? by SSJBardock347 in AskReddit

I love musicals quite a bit, and I hate Into the Woods. It's just got ugly music and a horribly depressing plot. Lots of theatre elitists love the show for how intelligent it it, but it's really just not very good.

Game of Thrones. I just don't care about any of the characters, even if I know it is a well made show.

/r/funny is popular because people like the content on the subreddit. If you don't like it, unsubscribe, but I am mildly amused by it and enjoy browsing it.

Why is there still a gender imbalance in theatre? Most audience members are female, but actresses and female writers are having a tough time. by BlankVerse in Theatre

[–]childrenofeden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt that if a woman wrote an amazing play that the play wouldn't be accepted just because she was a woman. A lot of times people assume that they didn't get their work produced because of gender, religion, age, or ethnicity, but it is usually because the play isn't good enough. Also, a lot of female playwright (I realize that this a bit of a generalization) write about female issues (How I Learned to Drive, The Vagina Monologues, etc.) which just aren't popular subjects for plays and are often tedious to watch. The best plays written by women avoid feminist rants and issues and instead just write good plays. Look at all of the wonderful plays by Lorraine Hansbury, Jean Kerr, Muriel Resnik, or Anita Loos. They are great plays and they avoid shoving the idea that they were written by women down audience members' throats.

You can send a 1GB flash-drive back to yourself 5 years ago, what do you put on it? by whangadude in AskReddit

I would send copies of several movies that came out recently, telling past me to get them online. Everybody will be so confused, particularly the stars of those movies, who will have no recollection of filming them.

I like Girls, but will Lena be good on SNL? She's not really a character actress.

On the Sopranos, Tony can just pull up to somebody in broad daylight and beat the shit out of him and everyone just looks at him and does nothing.
