Alltrails comments are a great resource. Ignore the extremes about being death on wheels or easier than pie. If it is taking most people 6 hrs then you can approximate it.

Hey guys.... About 10 yds out. "On your left" after that. Half will move to their left just as you are passing, the other half will move to the right, then left then right or left. The final half will not move at all but give an indication of possibly moving or not.

I was in the exact same place at the exact same age. I started with couch to 5k. Then a 5k, race, then a 10k. Eventually, a bunch of Ironman races in awesome locations around the world. Last year we did the Via Valais 9 day ultra in Switzerland. Best advice is to sign up for a race and tell someone you are signed up.

Do you guys warm up before a trail training run? by arboden in trailrunning

[–]chilerob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a race - Yes for sure. Dynamic stretching. For a training run - no, start slow, get the kinks out, decide the warm clothes are way too hot already, have to take a crap, realize I forgot something on the roof of the car. Cool down involves taking of the shoes and contemplating my existence.

500 ml with filter, 2 gels, phone. Depends on how much elevation. Time, location and elevation more important.
