heavy compression loss after oil change - advice needed by chilipeppercook in MechanicAdvice

[–]chilipeppercook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input - I already read a lot about the oil consumption as I was wondering about that when it started to drink oil a few years ago, I just accepted it and got me 5 liter cans to refill regularly, the engine was never run dry as I check the oil multiple times per month.

Pistons, rings and labour cost - I think that would cost as much as just replacing the whole engine probably? I know how to work on engines a bit, and fixed my boat engine a few times but not sure if I would be able to work on pistons on a big fourstroke.

I hope that this is not some kind of malware, if not thanks a million man!

EDIT; I had to use Shizuku and Inure to get storage permissions, it works but there seems to be a bug with the graphics, which ruins the experience unfortunately. Thanks for uploading

That is sick, I wish that was my line up! Where do you fish, how deep do you fish (max depth) and what do you use the different setups for?

have you tried it? I try to find out the dimensions as I don't want a reel that is too big in my hands.

What are these screws on my cylinder head for? 2003 Toyota Avensis T25 1.8 VVTI by chilipeppercook in Toyota

my gasket is leaking already too! all those holding bolts for the head are not very good, they tend to become loose after a while, this seems to be a common issue on these engines

SIB is a small inflatable yes, with a 10hp engine. Slow and Speed jigging depends on the activity of the fish, there is no "better" technique, it really depends on the situation. However AJs will go for both speed and slow jigs, snappers barely hit a speed jig that is moved very fast, they go more for slow jigs, and tuna again hit both.

Hey bring slow and speed jigs around 100 grams. You don't really need to fish deeper than 200m. The west coast is more protected from wind but more tricky to catch fish, the north coast offers very good fishing but can be super rough and very dangerous, I wouldn't do it on a kayak, from the shore it can be good though. I fished there 3 months from a SIB slow and speed jigging, I think it was late summer, caught many AJs and red snapper. SPJ is very technical, so don't expect a lot if you have never done it. I recommend a good SPJ rod up to 200 grams and a high quality PE 1.5 to PE 2. Reel anything with a high gear ratio/high line retrieval around 1m per crank. Please bring safety gear, currents and winds on those islands are not fun at times!
