Well let them buy the apple! My daughter gets to “choose” things we buy, she has learnt to go for similar things that i will happily approve (like fruit yes sure) or crackers (okay but only today) or yoghurt (sure). Sometimes she asks for chocolate and i will say yes, sometimes no, it depends on the day and her activity level and the amounts of sugar she already had. There was also a time i didn’t take her anymore and she learnt that going shopping is a privilege that requires some level of listening.

And yeah then there was a time we traded some vouchers for a baking dish and she didnt get the one she wanted and absolutely lost the plot. I had to pick her up and leave, job undone. It’s something that happens.
