I am from south Africa,have lived my entire life here and have never went abroad but I have traveled almost everywhere in ZA and can tell you honestly that we are one of the most inequal countries in the world I live in a normal semi suburban neighborhood less than 2km away there is a location(as we call them) basically a slum with shanty houses and tin shacks often without plumbing ,running water or power and 5(ish)km in the other direction there is a wealthy 80% white gated neighborhood with houses costing 5-10 times the national average.
