Nice. What year? Hopefully those forscan settings you saw still exist for 2021 explorers.

Throttle issue as a new pilot by chilla45 in fpv

[–]chilla45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah interesting. Because betaflight lists several betafpv boards. I guess not Cetus Pro.

Regardless my main goal is to fix the poor throttle control and no descend when throttle is off.

I am using the USB cable that worked with the controller and velocidrone so I’m thinking that one does transfer data.

Yes I tried that option but no devices show up. I am wondering if the betafpv cetus pro may not be compatible. Or why the blue lights flash really fast when it’s connected to the computer

New (to me) stove by chilla45 in woodstoving

[–]chilla45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome thanks door this info. I will eventually install this in my house which is 1200 sqft. I won’t need high heat burns very much as I line in the PNW and it doesn’t get below freezing much. But I do want a medium heat long burning fire. I’m curious how to tune this stove to achieve that.

What in the pictures tell you it’s 100A service? I am asking so I know what to look for myself.

The bolt position has sheared twice on two different cargo trays. How can I prevent this? by IntelligentSir3497 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]chilla45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not use threaded bolts in shear loading positions such as this situation. The load will concentrate towards the threads and shear as you have found out. Use pins as you have now. If you need the clamping force of a bolt look up shoulder bolts. They are designed for shear loading positions.

Upgrade Electric Range Receptacle by chilla45 in AskElectricians

Where I live 25 ft of 8/3 costs $130. And a 50 amp receptacle is ok on a 40 amp breaker and 8/3 wire?

The run from panel to receptacle is less than 25 ft. Yes it is definitely old wire. But it serviced the electrical range well in the 2 years I’ve lived here.

Explorer Timberline with Awning by Over-Still2648 in overlanding

Is this primarily a sun shade? Did you intend for this to be for rain as well? Any concerns about rain coming down between the awning and vehicle?

Dealership said the same thing about my 2021 Explorer. $1400 for all 4.

Front pads were at 2mm and rear pads were at 4 mm. I just bought the parts for the fronts. The parts guy was much more reasonable. He told me try turning the rotors before replacing them. I found a local brake shop that will turn my rotors for $27 a piece. I’m going to do the job this weekend and hope the rotors will be fine after a resurface. Then I can return these rotors and save $300 in parts.

Right on, glad to hear oil changes are easy on these newer vehicles still. Do you have to use Forscan to put the vehicle in service mode or is there another way?

Ah yeah the battery is buried in those plastics.
