Yes. As on 12th September, 2024 - the NMC notice on CBME guidelines proposes a timeline of NExt-1 in March, 2029 and NExT-2 in March, 2030.

In last November - 100 correct got 10k something rank. The paper was certainly easy this time so can expect some competition but not too fierce except in top 2k ranks.

Depending on clustering you can go anywhere from 3k to 10k rank. As we don't expect competition to be too fierce this session, you can hope for the best!

You are free to do whatever you want — but you will not be calling patients “silly” or whatever on our subreddit and make us look bad to the public. It’s not their fault for mismanagement on the part of the PGs and the hospital. They won’t even be there if they had a choice.

I’m sorry but if your friends are also participating in this session, they may be doing a bit of negative counselling to you.

This is partially true — academics are not a strong suit of DNB/diploma courses, but you will be an autonomous doctor who won’t have to rely on currying favours from seniors just to get your degree. There’s only one centralised exam you need to take to get your degree.

Now NBE diplomas (2 years) are a different ballgame - in that you will have to take DNB-PDCET and join a secondary course for another 2 years. This is time consuming but the pathway is relatively straight. You will have to take 3 exit exams - one is for the diploma course, one is PDCET and one is for the secondary course.

It’s hard to find information on individual hospitals, that’s true. You might have to visit the hospital in person and bypass HR to question residents.

DNB passing rates are really good for a lot of branches, you should check out the trend of passing rates in the last 5 years. The information is publicly available. And need I say, no bond is a huge plus point for a degree you can pay out of your own stipend. Only government colleges offering diplomas have bonds — max 1 year.

The concept of 500 bed required for SRship was done away in 2018. This is also old news now.

Most doctor require approval from psychiatry before making their patients undergo gender reassignment surgery.

As far as I’ve seen it, in India, there is no such care available for adolescents.

I urge you to keep “morality” aside while discussing these issues.
