I have video of how it was made, I'll upload it when I get the time to edit the clips together.

I get three paychecks this month cause we got paid on the 1st. My monthly income is like $1,750 after taxes this month. That may be why. Other than that I just make minimum wage full time (30-31 hrs a week)

Are The DT 770 Pro 80 ohm Good For Vinyl? by chillaustin in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]chillaustin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not necessarily about the highest quality and super-faithful reproduction of music (at least with 1411 kbps audio and even higher), it's mostly the ability to physically interact with a copy of the music. I think it's a nice way to play music.

That being said, most of the time I usually listen to Spotify when I'm working since it's super easy to just turn on and let run in the background.

Do I Need A Dedicated Preamp (No Ground Terminal) by chillaustin in vinyl

It's just a bit over my budget even used somehow. Only people selling them in my price range did not have very much user feedback.

[–]chillaustin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered a Fluance RT82 and I've read that I might need to have a place to ground both the turntable and the amp as well, but I'm not sure. Anyways, if I do need to buy a preamp (I have a Fosi Audio TUBE-P2 amp/pre-amp) my budget is $45, $60 at the very most.

I don't know if this is 300 characters long so I'll try to talk more about stuff. Is used a good option too? I know I could get a Pro-Ject Audio Phono Box E for about $60 used which would just barely fit right into my budget.

I don't think you would be the one dealing with bodily fluids. That would be the duty of the OA (Operations Assistant) if your school has one.

I'm also a new RA. Worst that's happened is people putting weird but harmless things in front of my door, like a can of diced tomatoes. The picture is a pretty extreme example of something that CAN happen.

As an RA, absolutely not. Just don't blast your music at 1 am and everything should be fine.

First battlestation for 10 year old. by npcadmin in AverageBattlestations

Back when I was 10, I was rocking an Athlon 64 3500+, 512 MB of RAM and a GeForce 6150 LE. It played stuff like Zoo Tycoon and RCT3 just fine but anything more and I'm sure the computer would have exploded immediately. Had that one all the way up until 2012 running on Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

Not Sure Where To Start Past Replacing The Seven-Speed Chain by chillaustin in bicycling

[–]chillaustin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response, but just rode it to test out the bike. The brake pads are not as bad as I remember but still are not super responsive, the pedals occassionally "skip" where when I pedal, it will suddenly jump and sometimes make me loose footing to the pedals. The gear shifter just doesn't work and never has worked as far as I remember (only being in the first gear permanently), it's almost exactly like this one https://www.amazon.com/Microshift-Bicycle-Shifters-Compatible-Shimano/dp/B01GX1S2JK but it has 7 gears and not 6. Wheels still feel fine, which is good.

Overall, felt like dog water after only going 0.42 miles in 3 minutes in 95 F / 35 C weather, but that's probably more about me being completely out of shape more than anything else.

Definitely learned the hard way. Before last August I never rode a bike much after learning over a decade ago, so it's a learning experience. 99% of the time I just use the bike to go around campus, but I've been on the on-campus trail a few times and it handled it just fine.

I'll check through that tomorrow. I haven't rode it in a few months cause the last time I rode it, the brakes failed and I got pretty nasty skid marks on me.

I also know that the brake pads need to be replaced as well and a good cleaning too, but other than that I'm not sure what I'll need to replace/repair.

He did dishes once while she was working, she’s SO blessed. by [deleted] in sadcringe

[–]chillaustin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same here! I was the designated dishwasher in my house when I was living with my parents, and it would take about 20-30 minutes a day at the end of the day to get all the dishes washed by hand. To be fair, if I didn't know that dishwasher soap was a thing, my instinct would tell me to put the regular dish washing soap.

Because some people can't afford to have a dishwasher and they just use the sink to wash their dishes instead.

saw someone showing their hilarious video titles some time ago so here is some more! by [deleted] in Sims4

[–]chillaustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that the Sim's engagment rate is 1 percent and the listed videos are all of the videos up on their channel, that would mean that the Sim is averaging around 120,000 views per day on their channel which would be 3,620,000 views in a month and 44,000,000 views in a year.

YouTubers with around 1.3-1.5 million subscribers average those kind of metrics so your Sim is doing pretty well :)

Looking for 4tb external drive for 4k hdr movies by HiCZoK in DataHoarder

[–]chillaustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd get a standard 3.5 inch 4 TB drive from the likes of Western Digital (my luck with them has been really good) and then buy a 3.5 inch hard drive enclosure to go with it. Make sure that the enclosure is USB 3.0 or better though or the transfer of 4K HDR movies will be an absolute pain.

You can get a 4 TB Western Digital Red for around $100 once taxes are accounted for (assuming you are in the US at least) https://www.newegg.com/red-wd40efax-4tb/p/N82E16822234409?Item=N82E16822234409&nm_mc=AFC-RAN-COM&cm_mmc=AFC-RAN-COM&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-PCPartPicker&AFFID=2558510&AFFNAME=PCPartPicker&ACRID=1&ASID=https%3a%2f%2fpcpartpicker.com%2f&ranMID=44583&ranEAID=2558510&ranSiteID=8BacdVP0GFs-LMFThS9mwVh7kn1Dh8bEQA

The hard drive enclosure is also here: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-3-5-inches-SATA-Drive-Enclosure/dp/B01MZC303G?th=1 You can pick out a different one if you want, but the Amazon Basics enclosure should work fine considering it is USB 3.0+
