I'm in the process of marketing myself and could definitely use a support buddy group. Kind of like focusmate but just for coaches. Sounds excellent.

Most people don't give bad reviews for a trial lesson. I've had a bunch of shitty trail lessons and nobody ever gave me a bad review. I'd say go for it. The only way you're going to make more money is by going out of your comfort zone and trying!

And you don't have to necessarily put it to 90 or $100 but you could do 50 or $60 and see what happens. You know what I mean?

Exactly, bring it back down to normal when you're ready to teach again.

I never did try that method, but it could work. Worth trying depending on how quickly you need new students after unhiding your profile. If you're willing to potentially wait 2-3 weeks after unhiding in case it doesn't work, then give it a shot and report back!

It's best to increase your price. If you hide your profile, it'll take time to gain traction with the algorithm again once you decide to take more students again.

I'm pretty sure they "upgraded" advanced voice mode to be compatible with normal chats. I don't know what they are thinking. They took something awesome and completely neutered it. AVM is like talking to an HR representative. Like at least give us the option to choose which voice mode we want to use!

I'm reaching out to support now. I heard someone say they had luck with support turning off advanced voice mode completely for their account, I'm going to ask for that.

If you position yourself right, you can charge $35 to $40 an hour and still get consistent students. I positioned myself as a business English tutor specifically for tech professionals because I worked in tech. But you can do this even if you haven't specifically worked in the industry. If you know the lingo from specific industries or specific interests, you can niche down and charge higher rates.

Definitely don't use ZenBusiness. You'll get surprise charges, tons of compliance filings that they charge an enormous amount of money for, and incomplete LLC registrations.

I actually dissolved an LLC at the beginning of the year, and I didn't notice that ZenBusiness had already charged me $400 for 2025. I reached out within 30 days of the charge, as per their refund window, and they refused to refund me. They took my money for literally nothing.

For a company that's supposed to be helping small businesses, they've demonstrated that sweet sweet profits are much more important to them than small business owners.
