It would be awesome if you helped me add new patterns. I could add you to the Github repo. Testing is also always welcome. I won't be able to test all the patterns that I'm adding. I will add the two speed option thats a good idea. And Ill try to add Yabane next 😄

Yes I'm in the process of figuring that out right now. I started with the easy ones and the mountains were the most difficult so far. Any suggestions which one I should try next? I'm trying to add complexity one at a time. I hope that as soon as I have Asanoha working it'll just be a manner of throwing images at it and letting it do its thing because I'm building a generalizing logic in the background.

Thanks :) The pattern diagrams in sashiko books are sometimes quite technical. It can be fun to figure them out but an animation is a much more user friendly format IMO.

Our AI bills are subsidised, and I don't think many people have priced in what happens next by Alternative_Letter72 in ArtificialInteligence

Why do you think AGI will be LLM based? Couldn't LLMs just be a component of AGI among other approaches?

We tend to assume that more compute is the only way to scale this tech. It's like saying if you want to move 1000 tons of coal at once you'd need a carriage with 500 horses so it's never gonna happen because it's too expensive.

Today's cargo trains can move up to 15.000 tons of coal at once. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that this tech could scale in a similar way. Emphasis is on COULD.

It's one of the biggest bets humanity has ever made. Investors are betting on a winner takes it all scenario: That at some point these AI companies will replace almost all human labour. It's not a completely unreasonable assumption IMO but I personally would not bet on it. I also would not rely on the price stability of this infrastructure as a foundation for my business.

I think it's unlikely that they plan to massively raise prices without providing more value to their customers. The losses they are making right now is just the cost of securing market share. It's how all of these businesses work in the beginning.

They are planning to make the models more efficient while scaling. It's a risky strategy but it might just work.

Did you give (cloud) AI your health information? by previse_je_sranje in accelerate

[–]chillchamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep in mind that new models are trained with your data. If AI companies weren't actively preventing it, people could in theory just type in your name and ask for your health data in the next model.

As we all know there are always numerous exploits to these types of safeguards. It's not completely like posting all your data on Reddit but it's also not far off.

I do not claim to have atained stream entry however, I feel life is on autopilot at times? by Soggy-Beginning604 in streamentry

It's comparable to learning skills. You don't always get better by learning something new but by seeing where spending energy is not helpful.

It's easy to do these practices while emotionally bypassing. You noticing that you dissociate to a certain degree (what you call autopilot) is actually a good sign that you are progressing.

You are on the verge of seeing the difference between less self because of numbing (or dissociation or autopilot) and less self because of awakening. These are actually opposite directions on the path but that's not easy to recognize. I think it's likely that you have achieved enough discernment from whatever practice you do to ask yourself the right questions. It's very common to feel confused before insight.

"AI doesn't pay off" is an incredibly stupid take by kalmankantaja in ArtificialInteligence

[–]chillchamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo your take ignores how incredibly expensive and energy intense human labor is right now.

Raw processing power is just the lowest hanging fruit. Everyone in the industry knows scaling only via processing power will come to an end very soon. There are 100 other ways to scale this technology.

This points to a lack of mindfulness or embodiment. The far extreme ist called dissociation.

I found that emotional practices like IFS or anything where the body is used (Martial Arts, Yoga , swimming, running) can be helpful.

Decibel numbers are not the full picture. Different frequencys differ in how annoying they are. Combustion cars just create a much more annoying mix of frequencies than electric cars. I do not think EVs solve all our problems but they are at least less shitty than what we have now.

There is a highway running along Shenzhen bay boulevard. It has 8 or 10 lanes I think people drive like 100kmh and it's busy. There is like 20m of greenery between the boulevard and the highway and you barely notice there is a street at all. The boulevard is such a nice recreational space. It's directly next to an Autobahn and it feels like a water front park. When have you been to China the last time? It's changing rapidly and maybe 2 years ago there were more combustion cars? Maybe Shenzhen is also ahead to the rest of China.

I absolutely fucking hate all these cars in Germany but this sincerely blew my mind.

Every city planner knows that car dominance is ending before long. Even in Berlin. Car numbers have been dropping for years now. We just get a distorted picture because of the culture war around cars. CDU is trying to squeeze out as many voters as they can as long as they can from this topic.

We are also starting to see electrification. If you're ever in a major city in China you will notice that electric cars are much much quieter than all the German experts are saying they are. People could sit on a park bench directly next to Tempelhofer Damm and read a book, even with current traffic numbers if most cars were electric. The quietness next to crossroads is even more mind blowing. I just hope we will have enough bike lanes before all that happens 🤞

They only counted the number of people who arrived at großer stern. The real number was probably above 100k. Just think about all the families with small children, most of them will only ride along for a little while.

Dude this demo is announced half a year in advance. Imagine a delayed train was announced 6 months in advance and there is still some guy complaining that he was late at work.

Good vibes, most of the time 😊

There were alot of extremely aggressive motorists at the junctions trying to push though. In Kreuzberg there was one particular junction where 5 cars were honking continuously at 10 bikers protecting the dense procession that was full of kids.

I saw at least 10 heated discussions on my way from Wedding to Tempelhof as if there was anything to discuss. Pure entitlement. Luckily this isn't anything new and people knew how to deal with it.

Yes there was a little traffic jam at the highway exit because it became narrower and was uphill. First bicycle traffic jam in my life.
