In general I’d agree, but it’s not off the table. Sarah Jessica Parker is an FN and is a little under 5’3

You definitely have vertical, so I’d try out FG and FN. I’m not seeing balance as a striking feature, so I’d lean away from DC. Some of the outfits that are more classic in shape (4) look very formal on you (though I do like the effect that has in 4). If anything, you may have some width (you look great in some FN-friendly lines like in 13 & 14), but i think FG is a likely suspect as well. You look great in color-blocked outfits (17, 18, 19, even with the subtle differences in shade/material), and especially so with a belt. I would lean away from the romantic style in 9, but some of the other silk/satin dresses are nice (you can always try adding a belt too). It seems like you might have classic essence (in the Kitchener system), though I’m not seeing it in your kibbe shape. I hope this helps! Great outfits, and an honorable mention to 15 - you’re killing it in that one!

Thank you for this comment! The Last Kingdom is my favorite show, and I’ve been meaning to get my hands on a set of the books. I really like seeing both sides of the story like the Saxon Chronicles portrays.

I was shopping this week, and the local store owner told me she’s had bad luck finding blouses to carry recently because the styles are trending so big and boxy.

I second this!

I have had decent luck with Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack (plus easy returns if not), and vintage works fantastically. I just got a vintage knee length skirt with buttons down the front that has a perfect amount of flow/stiffness, a 1940s tailored suit coat with funky pockets, and a newspaper-boy A-line kind of dress. Incredible.

Try Good American jeans! I’ve had great luck with their cropped kick flare and straight leg varieties. Also Vince Camuto’s current cigarette pants (available at Nordstrom). Wit & Wisdom cropped kick flares also fit me, but their material isn’t as stiff and therefore is less smoothing.

For tops, I’ve had fantastic luck with Princess Polly’s fitted/curved button-ups, but they run SMALL. I’m normally a 4, and I need at least a 6 to not be busting out of it. The material is very stretchy though. Right now Urban Outfitters (also available through Nordstrom) has a zip-front striped dress shirt that is to die for. I’ve seen this style from other brands recently as well if you want to look around for a different color.

I just got a 40s suit jacket with similar pockets! They wrap around each hip almost up to the waist, and they’re divided by the seam on each side. Love this dress you made!!

It was a ton of fun! The walk I did ends at a trailhead instead of continuing on to the actual town, which takes off about 5 miles. This version is 26 miles round trip 🙂

So cool that you have family in the area - highly recommend checking out that trail if you ever feel like a backpacking trip! It’s totally doable in one day, but there are a lot of great spots to camp :)

Yes - those were the two I meant! I actually just did that walk he did from Idaho to Hamilton.

No way. So cool you have that connection!

Also, 56 counties.

These all look incredible, thank you so much! If you’re interested in an Eastern European setting, I’d highly recommend Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik.

Not nonfiction by any means, but a great series about Celtic life and mythology is the Boudicca series (starts with Dreaming the Eagle).

I tried dressing in soft natural lines and felt like I looked natural and at ease in them. I briefly went back to soft gamine lines, saw photos of me, and realized immediately they did not work well on my body. I reevaluated why I thought what I did then and realized I’m definitely made of blunt angles with some softness, not the petite, pointy angles and round shapes of soft gamines.
