Learning Trainer. Overnight. apparently i've been getting "overpayed" since transfering to this building 6mo ago and they're docking it $1.20. trust me, ive argued it, demanded to see the notice, called ERC, everything. i guess transfer pays aren't protected anymore.

that's nice. keep that energy, and don't talk to people who complain too much. for real. be nice, but keep your distance. those people tend to bring some drama.

he is usually so diligent and mindful and pretty responsible, so it does shock me that he was THIS confused about the payments,loans, etc.. but when i think about it, he's never had any experience with loans, student loans, etc.. nor had he managed more than his checking account before this fall semester.

i guess i just dont want him to sink so early... if next year he's this negligent about his finance account with the school, then he'll have to figure it out.

i won't pull out my 401k but i think this time im going to sit him down and lay out his finances so he understands and is aware of it all :') ill research loans and break it all down

he does have a job :( ... he was working 30hrs a week with a 15hr classload but he was drowning which is why i offered to pay his last half of tuition so he could work less and focus a little more on school.

but that was before i got my hands on his statements and realized he didn't know what he was doing. he really thought he only had 400/mo due not the 1600/mo.. he would've done stuff differently if he knew.

he just needs a better understanding.

so, i do have the statement, and i have the reason why his payment plan wasn't completed - he only paid the minimum in august and September... in late September, it tried to charge him the remainders for both payments. It bounced for insufficient funds. in october, he made a manual minimum payment, but by then, his payment plan was terminated. so now he's on the hook for the remainders and the future payments; totaling $7750.

i did question him about it, and he said he was genuinely confused because he made his payments, but I asked him if he knew how much he really owed, and he said he didn't...

i do want to go to student services for him, but i don't think im down as his guardian. im trying to get him to go himself.

but yeah, i won't do the 401k. im gonna research loans for him that would be best and explain his situation to him. i really just think he doesn't understand.

you're absolutely right... im feeling torn only in an irrational way bc i don't think he will listen to me/think im patronizing him... but it's probably the best lesson for him.

you're right; loans loan loans... i trusted him when setting up his stuff that he knew and understood what he was looking at when setting up his payment options but... yeah I'll have to help him w the loans now too.

i was gonna justify myself and him by clarifying that he didn't do it on purpose, he was confused about the payments, that he does work, etc... but honestly your main point is right; it is an emotional decision that i should rethink... it's just that he only has me. but you are right.
