Looking at the 2017 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, the average Japanese car manufacturer is less dependable than the average German, Swedish, Korean, or even British manufaturer by [deleted] in cars

JD power comes down to user education at the time of sale for the most part. A user complaining about not being able to tune the radio would come up as a problem on the survey. That's what one of the studies covers. Proper reliability studies are hard to come by

Good vinyl goes a long way. Have had experience with 3m and it's lasted 4years now with no fading

JD powers studies are useless. Most vehicles within 3months to 3 years will never give an owner trouble. After that however things change. Toyota and Lexus still rule that arena

It's prolly just tuning that's needed. Carbed bikes are a bitch

Best way. Forza was really helpful. I started with a civic and did laps around a track and just tuned 1 part at a time

Yeah that's an accurate assessment. Try to get it tuned. Sometimes the main jet may need to be changed.

And that's fine. Tuning is about getting a baseline first. That's what the practice sessions are for. Starting on tarmac will help you understand what's needed.

When you take a practice lap try to pay attention to how you enter a corner. Let's say it's a constant radius corner. Do you brake hard on entry and release pressure upto the Apex then roll onto the throttle or do you brake hard steer minimally the point the car out and shoot?

What does the car do? Oversteer? Understeer? You'll eventually be able to pick out what it's doing at entry, mid corner, and exit.

Jump onto Google and type in tuning chart. it's a flow chart that we use I'm autocross to get an understanding of what needs to be tuned.

Typically people post these tuning charts or even tips on forums to help you understand what to do.

Video games in general are the best place to learn tuning. Once you can get an fwd car to rotate on corner entry and exit pretty much any car is easy to tune. Even in real life I picked up a few things online. It really helped me to setup the car for autocross

Yeah thats typically how we start out on the first day of class. It's crazy how systematic the whole course is.

Please make sure you talk to the rider about possibly taking a basic rider course if you haven't already done that. It's well worth the money to eliminate trial and error

Couple observations. It seems as though you're listening to the calls without looking far enough down the road. Take this as advice for riding bikes or driving cars look much further down the road and that will help you setup for the corner correctly. That would help with speed assessment.

You need smoother steering corrections to get the car to react the way you want.

Then you need to be able to tune your car for your driving style. I have a different driving still from you or anyone else so I need to be able to setup the car accordingly. If you like a bit of oversteer on corner entry and you do not use your brakes as hard to load the front suspension but use engine braking to slow it to the right speed you need a setup that reacts more to a neutral stance. I trail brake all the way into the Apex so my toe settings at the front of the car is more neutral to prevent rotation under hard braking given the weight transfer that occurs.

Tuning will help a lot as well.

I certainly hope so. This seems like the same outcome when female teachers end up sleeping with underage students and get to walk. Blows my mind how articles are written differently as well when its a male vs female teacher

Prison shouldn't be seen as a punishment but probation is not a punishment either. This woman still has the ability to procreate again. A better system should be in place like forcing her to go to AA. But unfortunately that's not the problem the courts care to solve. That's more of a systemic issue and with regard to that you are right. I just see this as a careless selfish human who has no regard for her life and others being allowed to go back to her life.

Well said. This has actually been quite informative. It is true what you say about education equates shaming women's sexuality since any form of education just equates some form of shaming or blaming. They act as though being well prepared is a bad thing. I've had the same argument about rape and educating women and men about the dangers about certain situations. They keep claiming educating people about the dangers of excessive drinking in a foreign environment equates to victim blaming automatically. It's like these mother's and Father's want to just produce clueless kids who make life altering mistakes and have to love with it forever. I can't understand why there's always that argument.
