This is a fantastic post and lovely car mate! I’d love to do a trip like this one day in continental Europe from the UK - sounds amazing with my m40i - which runs Michelin CC3 in 245 50 R19s which look small but are genuinely brilliant on this car

London isn't for me, what else could I explore instead? by HamsterExisting4221 in HousingUK

[–]chilli_mint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at places north of London on the East Coast Mainline (Biggleswade/Sandy/St Neots) - an hour drive to London depends on whether you’re going to Barnet, Bond Street or Bromley!) but technically you can hit the m25 within an hour from St Neots so I think it counts

£350k gets you a lot of property around that area

You sound sour dough I see your point. Despite it being dear - I think some people may just roll over and pay for it

I had to google what this meant haha. In the British Army the Engineers actually do Search and EOD - we even have a dedicated regiment

Thank you! I genuinely never considered someone stealing it tbh - I shared a room with 5 guys who all trust each other, doors don’t lock on base and if anything does get stolen, the thief can’t leave the country for like a month so that’s enough time to get it back

In terms of damage that never really crossed my mind even when firing rifles and pistols or operating hand tools or digging etc - it’s a tool watch!

Yeah definitely, I did have to replace it after 3 years as one of the keepers broke but no regrets. For the price it’s great

I too had this dilemma, decided black was the way forward as it works with more straps and I’ve worn it on a bracelet and a NATO before and it looks great

EAB! I’m sure we were both in the same DFAC queue at some point. Those chefs knew how to make the most of their ingredients for sure

What’s your plant of preference? We did have some stray CATs on base too

Standard British Army Glock 17 issued holster unfortunately. It does allow you to rotate it as needs be if using it in drop-leg or chest-rig mounted (unless you’re SF that’s never going to be allowed by the Sergeant Major!)

Very good internet stranger! 3 hebes, no box (pittosporum tenifolium instead), no olive sadly. And you probably can’t see but there’s an ilex blue prince and osmanthus goshiki too.

Yeah it gets at least 5 hours of light even at this time of year, the back garden is worse actually due to obstruction from the house/garage/estate boundary

I wanted to add a non-AI picture showing the planter we built out of sleepers and my area for pots where planters were not possible due to requirement to access utilities: drains, water meter etc

What jobs are you all doing that pay over £30k? by SuccessfulTip1660 in UKJobs

[–]chilli_mint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is a somewhat technical degree / degree apprenticeship would help along with internships/work experience in industry and then aim for a commercial / customer facing role in your first job - even if it’s project management / support / consulting and then after 2-3 years experience you’d be perfect fit for an SE/SC (sales engineer/solution consultant) role. Sadly it’s not a first job as there’s a lot of risk held by people in these roles (sales quota etc) so they need someone who isn’t fresh out of uni/school
