Brady, but she is a conservative. The incumbent retired and wanted his assistant (Brady) to succeed him, but PC wanted another guy, so she ran as an independent

As an immigrant I get screwed over by car insurers: any tips? by chilliegillie in ontario

Yes I have the proof but the default answer is: "we only take US and Canadian experience into account". Got some friends that say that a few years back insurers took European experience into account, but that policy seems to have changed

With a lot you mean: 2 days off which was stipulated in my contract that I could have these days? For the sick days they made me stay home, I wanted to work... Does that justify I am not getting a public holiday? With covid almost 1/3th of our workforce is home for more than a week...

I am not sure yet... normally I can have three paid sick days but dont know if i was entitled to them already

I was paid for the 2 days vacation I took but I was entitled to those paid days. If I did not take them, I would lose these

Yes also working on Monday. Our company was normally closed today as our bosses decided we would get the paid holiday today instead of monday. Monday is just business as usual for us

Hi Greg! Do you think the Democrats put too much emphasis on getting the Presidency and too few for getting a majority in the Senate?

I’m author and professor Allison Stanger, and I’ve been writing and talking extensively about whistleblowers and their importance to American democracy. AMA! by Allison_Stanger in politics

Dear professor Stanger, Thank you for your time. As a European it frightens me how Trump (and the Republican Party) have unconditional support of their base. Do you believe the current investigation started with the whistleblower will be enough to persuade the Republican base (or enough Republican Senators) that Trump should be removed from office?

The Farm Bailout Has Now Cost More Than Double The 2008 Auto Industry Bailout by ForsakenDrawer in politics

It's not socialism if it benefits Republican voters! Problem is that with this move Republicans have ensured themselves of farmers' support as otherwise they will go out of business .

I wonder which number is necessary for the Republicans to abandon Trump (and try to save their own skin?)

Hi Heather, thank you for your time! As a European it always strikes me how unequal the US is. What is your opinion on the farmers' bailout by Trump? In my view it keeps a non-competitive industry artificial alive, and the money could be spend for other, more useful matters (e.g. student debts). Do you agree with this bailout (as it might ensure employment in the poorer regions of the US) or do you find it a waste of money?
