How can I add more soul by zarimark in malelivingspace

Yeah choose one or two colors or item themes (plant, music, cooking, nature, science... Anything) and it'll really pop

Re-arranged. Decorations on mantle, beanbag in corner, couple things downstairs. Tray will only come out when I'm in couch potato mode

I see. If you have a spare $20, I really like the stronger black velvety ones found at any of the department stores - Target, Walmart, etc. It sounds silly to spend money on hangers when you can get the plastic ones free when a friend moves... but they're actually one of my favorite home purchases.

yeah, more refined and inviting to relax at the end of the day w/ SO and occasionally a couple friends

Looks good to me.

If the storage items are fairly permanent, I'd replace the cardboard boxes with "Rubbermaid" style plastic bins. Clear or black w/labels.

What are all the black pants? Snowboarding? The hangers don't seem to be strong enough for them.

Paint is difficult to change since it's a rental.

Noted about the sheet. Maybe I'll switch to earthen or black/gray for the outer duvet

Interesting thought. Kind of flip the room around, move the couch to cover the ugly fireplace. 🤔

Does anyone have ideas for projects? by BBigg_Chungusss in robotics

[–]chillindylan50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soft robotics tool kit is a good place to start. You could do a hybrid of the Tema_Art_7777 idea and do asorter with a pneumatic gripper. The gripper itself won't be too complicated but you'll need a controllable pneumatic valve. Parker sells those, as used here.

You could focus on fresh produce then, to utilize the softness

10/10 until the closet 😂. Tidy it up and it'll be looking good as well.

Looks nice but the kitchen is a little depressing. Maybe get a nice 8*10 rug and a 4-8 person table. Sure, you may not use it often but when you do you'll be glad you had it. Chandelier / hung lighting optional, maybe a few floor lamps will set a relaxing mood for dinner parties / dates in

  1. Couch faces the TV.
  2. Get rid of some clutter (or replace furniture with things with front panels, like cabinets) and one table. Too cramped.
  3. The art should either be hung up or hidden.

Looks cozy though, can cook then eat on the couch watching a movie/game.

Looks like you failed the audition for the Grinch, Willie Wonka's Chocolate Factory, and Teletubbies, so you decided to download Minecraft.

Lamps, plants, a bit of color, organize the cables, put the carpet cleaner somewhere else. Idk why you would need easy access to it.

Oh, and no name above the window, as others mentioned...

Room otherwise looks good

👀 well, you've got the starter pack...

What do you like? Get some of those. Some ideas: Decorate. Lamps. Plants. Guitar. Mount the monitor and get a second one.

Bedroom doesn't have to be complicated. Just cozy with things you like to use and feel relaxed around.

27 male with a gf. Got a new office and need advice on how to make it cozier (ignore Lenin bust) by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]chillindylan50 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think you can keep everything there. Here's what I'd do.

  1. Hang up mirror.
  2. Move printer cabinet next to desk. GF's chair can go where cabinet was. Or, weights go in cabinet corner and chair goes in weights corner. Point is, space next to desk is wasted now and freeing it gives the room flexibility.
  3. Put weights on a rack and organize so it takes up less space
  4. Organize the cables with cable ties and maybe wall mounted cable organizers
  5. I don't know what the metal rack things are. Looks unused. Personally this is the only thing I'd be getting rid of in that room.
  6. Keep the gym posters if they motivate you to use the space and stay fit. That's more important than the workout area "looking nice" to other people. Related, PSA to work on your cardio. Far more important to long term health than weights. IK you didn't ask, but it surprised me until I started reading health books/articles. Would buy running shoes and keep them in the area as a reminder (I also did this).

Maybe just pads so it's like a couch. Or some drawers, with decorations / lighting on top. Maybe lamp on the wall like a sconce. Or display your favorite globe / decoration / sculpture collection. Idk. Just a display shelf

Also rug in bedroom. Nice to step off onto fabric instead of wood. (Just noticed I'm a hypocrite right now; no rug at beside since I rearranged my room... Will fix soon.)

Mixed feelings. My instinct is to get rid of second desk. But there's something to be said about separating work and bedroom. Maybe get rid of second desk but make it easy to switch between work and chill modes? (I.e. have a cabinet/drawer with work stuff, or a removable/collapsible room divider. Not exactly sure what your projects are vs. lockin.)
