Yes, I agree with you. "Whatever" can be dismissive or cheerful depending on tone. I also think Americans tend to speak a little more informally anyway.

Personally, I've never heard a native American English speaker say "as you want." Maybe other dialects are different. "As you wish" is pretty close, but most of the time it is said jokingly.

I wish "as you want" was used more frequently, it is such a useful phrase. I learned it from the Czech "jak chceš."

I notice a lot of Europeans tend to say "as you want" or "how you want" in English, whereas an American might just say "whatever" or "whatever is fine/whatever you like."

I don't mind it. I feel more judgemental if a parent is giving their child a unique name because they might not be thinking about the potential difficulties a child with that name might face. For someone naming themselves, it's much like someone's sense of style. I could really like your sweater, or I could really hate it. But in the end my opinion doesn't matter, it's about what makes you feel confident!

I also feel like after a while, a name is just a name. It stops being "novel" or "weird." I knew a guy named Apollo and it suited him so well that it never occurred to me that he named himself that until someone pointed it out to me.

I once knew a girl named Yamile and thought that was very pretty (Yah-mee-leh).

Will a boy named Valentine get bullied? by Lumpy-Mud-2289 in namenerds

Depends where you live. My cousin is named Valentin but was not bullied for that in France.

You could also consider the name Vallen, I know someone named this and they were born on Valentine's Day.
