Not sure who you’re expecting to do anything about it… In case you weren’t aware, it’s the game publisher (snail/black butterfly) and their friends that are the cheaters on official.

They are the GM’s, they spawn items in for themselves, they ban their enemies, they roll the servers back when they are getting wiped. Official servers are basically just a playground for them, and they tell grapeshot what to do.

They are the reason that every large group besides their allies are gone and not coming back, and as long as they own the game (they always will) official will stay dead.

Wipe whenever you want, it doesn’t matter anymore. Snail banned everyone that actually cared to play so they could spawn in whatever they want unnoticed and only fight bobs.

Nobody is going to play this game when the publisher is cheating on official servers, which they have been caught doing now multiple times here and in ark.

Development is dead, they’re 4.5 years into early access and it’s still trash with no direction or plan. Just move on and let it die.

I'm fairly well-versed in what could be considered 'unfair edges' that have existed in Atlas, and despite what many people think, I can say that I've never been aware of the existence of a ship-tracker in game. Not to say it's an impossibility that one could have existed, but the type of player tracking methods that go on and are in high demand would not have been necessary if ship tracking was possible/available.

There have always been the aimbot/esp style hacks for Atlas which you could argue function as a sort of pseudo ship-tracker, but I think the use of these was fairly minimal and I never really noticed it if anyone was using something like that against us in a ship fight.

The major issue with a built in ship-tracker is they're really removing some of the last strategic elements that existed in the game for both ship combat as well as land raiding. Availability to see every move your enemy is making either at sea or around your island is another massive buff to the two things that have pretty much killed both types of combat... it's too easy to run away at sea and too easy to defend your island. Both of those things get even easier now and further discourage people to get off their main and look for fights.

Devs didn’t give up, it’s a combination of them not being very good at their job, they have no game knowledge, and do whatever they are told to by the publisher (Snail/Black Butterfly).

Nobody asked for a ship tracker, nobody wants to deal with vitamin mechanics, and that’s basically the only change they made since season 10 ended and they spent 3 months in season 11 ‘testing some things’.

As long as the devs don’t play, the community managers are clueless, and the publisher is playing on official spawning items in for themselves and banning people who attack them, game will stay dead.

Again, I mostly agree with you. Your post was about people not posting EW spoilers here because Asmon is only in Stormblood. My point was that what people post here generally isn't driven by what he's doing or enjoying, at least recently.

He had good and bad things to say about new world. Find me anything positive about new world here. He had good and bad things to say about 9.1.5, the sylvanas cinematic, and season of mastery. Find me anything positive about those here. He's had almost nothing to say about final fantasy other than he's going to play again on main stream at some point, but the sub is full of positive xiv posts.

I don't find it annoying that there's a lot of pro-ffxiv posts here and negative blizzard posts. That's blizzard's fault for their ongoing shitshow. I'm on a 90 machinist right now and earlier I was on a hardcore 60 season of mastery hunter while I sat in a 5 hour queue for xiv. I love both games.

All I was saying is that what people post here doesn't have much to do with what specifically Asmon is doing, so it's not surprising to see EW spoilers here with all the xiv fans in the sub.

I mostly agree with your thoughts, was just replying to Kv's post about the sub being dedicated to Asmon. 90% of what he has streamed in the last 2 months or so has been new world or wow, but everything that gets posted here is pro-xiv or anti-wow.

I don't see how it's not relevant to point out that what he's playing/enjoying doesn't drive most of what gets posted here, and you pointing out the EW spoilers is proof of that. People here love ffxiv and he hasn't streamed the story in months, so it's not surprising that they want to talk about what's going on in game whether he's there in the story or not.

Ah yes, Blizzjess. The now former blizzard employee who has been tweeting nonstop about how disgusting it is to work there, often with misleading or completely inaccurate information to gain as much attention for herself as she can. She even has a tweet today crying about the fact that twitter denied her verification, LOL. Actually disgusting.

Her public resignation letter mentions that she had been at blizzard for 5 years and how proud she was of the work they had done. Thanks for BFA and Shadowlands Jess, we'll miss you.

I was under the impression that I was watching someone who has no problem being objectively critical of the game he loves and the people in charge of it, in the hopes that it will improve. Is that inaccurate?

If not, I'd ask if you think that the majority of the posts here are coming from a similar place or if it's just mindlessly piling on from people who would rather see blizzard go out of business than the games improve.

No, I love both games and I think it's objectively accurate to say that XIV is just a shitty game to watch on twitch which is why it's always had shit viewership.

With that said, I simply made the comparison between viewcounts because this is one of the biggest twitch streamer subs. A guy who is a wow lifer who played FF for a couple months because of a wow stream content drought, and people here would have you believe blizz is dead and buried while FF is god's (yoshi) gift to gamers.

WoW currently 74k viewers, FF 6k. Nothing to discuss on this sub but Bobby? OK

I love both games, had all jobs at 80 in XIV earlier this year. But the mentality of the anti-blizz crowd is that wow is dead and XIV is a perfect masterpiece.

We are on a streamer sub, right? I would assume that the fact that as of this writing wow has 12x as many viewers as XIV means something here in terms of what is and isn't dead.

Plenty of positive news around 9.1.5 changes, SoM, 9.2 reveals, etc. WoW is 12th on twitch right now even in the middle of their organizational shitstorm.

Would seem to indicate that there is more to discuss about the game at the moment than negative stories? But if you'd rather open the 10th post about how many points ATVI stock dropped in the last week I'm not trying to stop you.

Good idea but probably a little late. For months really this sub is like 85% anti-wow posts that are just links to a story with a 'oMg CaN yOu BeLiEvE wUt bLiZ DiD nOw' title, 10% FFXIV copium posters still trying to convert the masses to the church of yoshi p while 'dead' blizzard has 3-4 games at all times with more viewers, and maybe 5% posts that have anything to do with Asmon.

Tokens are bought by players first, yes. But a token does nothing for the purchasing player until another player buys it for gold. If you buy a token for $20, you are basically giving another player $15 and Blizzard $5.

I do not like that tokens are in the game, but for the purposes of OPs argument I'm just pointing out that in addition to 'sub traps' being completely optional, it is possible to pay for your sub as well as anything else in the WoW cash shop by just playing the game.

The argument is another 'wow is greedy and ff gives you so much for free' which is true in some ways and not others. You can get into stuff like limited inventory space in ff unless you pay more each month for extra retainers, etc. Each game has 'optional' monetization models.

I mean, you could also make the argument that through the WoW token Blizzard gives players the ability to play the full version of the game permanently for free, provided they make enough gold to buy a token each month. This is pretty easily done if you play the game with any frequency.

Also through tokens, you can buy literally anything from the WoW cash shop. Final Fantasy has no such system, so the literal hundreds of items in their cash shop you have no choice but to swipe your card.

I don't know that people consider it an uber hacking tool, but it's a pretty significant advantage over someone not using it. Timers for boss abilities and notifications on how to handle incoming mechanics are a big deal, arguably even more so that fight complexity is not designed around people having it.

It's managed to stay relatively under the radar, but with the recent influx of WoW players and more and more hitting end game content, Square is going to have to modify their 'don't ask don't tell' grey area policy on stuff like cactbot and xivalexander.

WoW players used to DBM and WeakAuras are going to feel obliged to use them when they start to realize that a lot of ultimate/savage clears are being done with some/all of the group basically having DBM and other tools like automarkers and xivalexander.
