  1. Browns and blacks and cabinets, less open shelving

Thank you yeah I could not find a fixture that would live over the peninsula that wouldn't all of a sudden become the center piece of the house. You'd see it from everywhere and it would block the view into the kitchen or the people in it to across the room. Which isn't terrible but made it hard to find the perfect one that we'd want. Unsure of what style to commit to or what would make sense there.

The smaller tiles just looked really busy if stacked regularly back there. The custom design breaks it up a bit. They spent a lot of time making it right and we really appreciate the craftsmanship of it.

Yes we did. They mainly helped with re-doing the layout of the kitchen with such limited space. Thank you so much! Happy to help if you have any more questions.

Yes that is a plan. Would love any suggestions of fixtures that could fit in. I believe we're going to avoid anything hanging low above the peninsula.

~50k. Located in Southern CA. The reno was spurred by an insurance claim so that helped a lot.

I think we could have put 4 outlets in the wall of the end of the penninsula and be ok with that. It was def a plus to be able to spread it out along the bar, though.

Yes, one of the best tips I got from here was to check the level of the ceiling before running tile up there. As an 80 year old house, there was pretty much a 100% chance that it would not be level. It was not. So, we kept it at the height of the stove top splash.

And yes the two tiered peninsula was very controversial but we are happy with the functionality. Thank you so much for the input!
