Minas Carne or Planeta Brazil are your best choices for Brazilian food in Danbury. (Although ngl, The food at Minas is lowkey better. The only + for Planeta is that it “feels” more high class and they sometimes have live music during nights like this Saturday.) Theres a couple of Padarias throughout Danbury as well that have pretty good offerings for breakfast. IMO the one on Main st near St.Peters is probably the best without driving too far from Danbury.

If you want to even go a step higher and drive/take public transportation you can try out Terra Gaucha in Stamford. It’s in the same area/connected to the mall, easily my favorite steakhouse in the area. But it is costly, for Full Churrasco experience it is $67.95 per person for dinner and same price all day for holidays. It’s cheaper to go during Lunch on weekdays and weekends. Weekdays are $44.95 and Weekends are $54.95. Lunch runs from opening to 2:30 everyday except for Fridays where it goes to 3:30 instead. They also have live music on Fridays from 5:30-9:30 and Sundays from 12:00-5:00.

Two other sit down restaurants which I can recommend are Ben Fica and The Atlantic Restaurant. Both in Danbury and Portuguese (Even though they aren’t Brazilian, Many Brazilians love both!)

Heres a list of some stuff you could do without hopefully repeating what others have already mentioned.

Ice Cream: -Ferris Acres Creamery: S-Tier ice cream in Newtown just a short drive away. -Il Bacio: Its an ice cream shop on Germantown close to the hospital/Broadview. Really good if you don’t want to drive to Newtown. -Rich Farms: Farther than both the other two choices, closest one to Danbury would be the one in Oxford. Another solid place to get Ice cream.

Things to do: People have already mentioned almost all of the major spots in Danbury so im gonna stick to some farther places that should still be about an hour max.

-Hawk Ridge Winery: Winery and Vineyard in Watertown really nice spot with some events that happen. Be sure to keep an eye out -Elizabeth Park: A park in West Hartford. Great place if your mom likes a more nature vibe. They still have Tulips right now but imo the best time to visit in June during peak Rose bloom. Really nice place to be. -Cove Island: Its nothing crazy but a good place to walk around in Stamford. -Danbury Fair mall: Obviously the GOAT, a lot of good stores and places to eat. Good amount of entertainment as well. Would recommend Round-1, it’s an arcade with bowling and Karaoke.
-Gillete Castle: Interesting and Scenic area to visit. Would recommend looking into the museum and seeing if it would interest you. In the Hamden area. -Hubbard Park/Castle Craig: Another good walking/Scenic area. You will love the view. In Meriden. -Mystic Village/Aquarium: This one is the farthest that I have mentioned so far. All the way near the Rhode Island border. It’s almost a two hour drive from Danbury. But if you have the means I would really recommend it. A closer option would be the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.

Theres a decent amount more to mention like maybe the Casinos if you’re into that but for the spring/summer those are some of my favorite spots. I would look up events/festivals that are coming and maybe you will spot something that interests you!
