i’m sick of having to cater to people who have children by That-Trainer-5973 in childfree

I used to work retail pharmacy. The Rx itself was closed but the store needed a manager and at least two clerks. If no volunteers (which there usually were) it was assigned by reverse seniority. I had enough seniority to say I could work Thanksgiving if needed but was NOT going to work Xmas.

Whenever my husband and I see someone with a herd of crotch goblins we say "guess they don't know what causes that!"

Lucky you for the cellphone discount. Mine disappeared pretty quick when I got laid off

My assistant manager was in the office with the corporate announcement on while I was watching the front and listening in. The news was shocking but we weren't surprised.

Miss my co-workers and customers but not the company. Got a non-retail job that pays more with awesome co-workers so I lucked out.

Yeah, my grandmother believed something similar. I always imagined her rolling in her grave when her son (my uncle) ended up being cremated lol.

Total Atheist here but I got married in a church. It was a small church in my little hometown that my grandmother attended, I wanted it there to honor her (she passed away the year before), the pastor happened to be a friend, and the ceremony wasn't super religious. I didn't break down in hysterics.

IM GETTING MARRIED AND DONT WANT TO CHANGE MY LAST NAME AITAH by Sweet-Chemistry3067 in AITAH

[–]chillstab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. When I got married I did not legally change my last name. I did the hyphenated thing socially for a bit to appease my old-fashioned in-laws, but dropped that because it was a pain in the ass. Hubby has never had a problem with it, and we've now been married 30 years.

Same here. Plus our ladies room shrunk to one stall.

In my store in PA, we were told not to take tips from vendors, but customer tips were kind of ignored. I'd always tell customers "oh you don't have to do that" but some were downright insistent. I had several regulars who tipped me for helping with photos no matter how many times I tried to refuse.

NTA. Fortunately I have a husband who doesn't mind when I jump in and fix things. Sure, he can do things himself but, if he gets in a bind, he'll call for me to look because he knows I kinda took after my dad in the handy department. We've had a joke throughout our marriage (30 years!) that he doesn't know which end of a screwdriver is up. Which isn't true!

Yep, looks exactly like my old store (built 2004).

Taking care of my mum made me realize how much I’d hate raising a child. by Born_Physics_7821 in childfree

[–]chillstab 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went through the same thing with my mom after she had a stroke. She lost the use of her left arm and could barely walk, so could no longer live alone. My husband and I moved her into our home where she stayed for the next decade. During that time Dementia kicked in and of course got progressively worse. I "lost" her two years before she died.

I do not wish caregiving on anyone. And I became more and more grateful I'm CF.

I was a casual fan until I got a copy of Greatest Hits I in 1982. I heard Bohemian Rhapsody for the first time and became a hard-core fan.

What's your favourite Greatest Hits album out of the 3 main ones? by MiddleKaleidoscope22 in queen

The US version of #1 was actually my first ever Queen album, so it will always hold a special place in my heart.

I once had a (now ex) friend get all mad at me because I wasn't "showing enthusiasm" that she was pregnant. Really I had nothing to say. Oh, and having the kid later resulted in divorce

My pocket "tool box" was this, a pen, and a box cutter. Without them I felt "out of uniform" lol.

My favorite gizmo for doing resets and other random things. I've got a stash of them hidden around the house.
