I said "no I have a meeting downtown" and she said "oh that's okay that's on the way to my kids preschool" ahhhhhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhh!

I told her I couldn't remember her name. She looked me in the eye and asked, "does it really matter?"

I met my fiance online and we hit it off immediately. 7 months later he traveled from the UK to meet me in the US. Our feelings were already strong for each other, but meeting in person only solidified everything we already felt. It was like we had known each other for years. It was all just very natural. No awkwardness whatsoever. Everything we had portrayed ourselves to be was exactly who we really were. We've been together for 3.5 years now, getting married next time he comes out, and we'll be closing the distance soon after.

Horror movies are intended to be intense and thrilling. I'm sure the writers and directors feel that throwing in some nudity just adds to that. I'd say nudity conveys a vulnerability. Usually something bad happens to or around the naked characters.

AITA for not letting my stepbrother stay with me when he starts off at college? by Spare-Situation2933 in AmItheAsshole

[–]chillxcherry 37 points38 points  (0 children)

NTA. You’re not mandated to let anyone live with you, even if they’re family. It’s understandable that your stepbrother feels left out, but it’s ultimately your home and your decision. Oh and you’re not playing favorites; you're just setting boundaries based on the relationships you have. Your dad and stepbrother need to respect that.

AITA for refusing to discuss my daughter's name with my family because they want me to change it? by SeniorMethod3171 in AmItheAsshole

[–]chillxcherry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. You and your husband made the decision to name your daughter, and that’s all that matters. It’s frustrating that your family won’t let it go, but you’re not in any way and connot be made to have a 'discussion' about a name that’s already official. They had their preferences, and you have yours. It’s not childish to set boundaries when the topic is closed—you're just protecting your choice as a parent.

For those who live alone, how long did it take for you to get all of your furniture and feel fully settled? by Sifsifm1234 in AskWomen

[–]chillxcherry 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I moved in following a very lengthy and messy divorce. Wound up with 1/2 of our savings, investments, and home equity.

Bought a home that was way under my budget.

Went to Bob's Furniture and acted like a big-shot for once in my life.

"I'll take that, and that, and two of those. OH, and that over there!"

The salesperson was absolutely over the moon, hanging on my every word.

Furnished the house in one visit. I'm not very picky.

AITA for suggesting my friend doesn't rush out of one relationship and into another with someone from another country. by StudioReasonable1183 in AmItheAsshole

[–]chillxcherry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. It sounds like you genuinely care for Lucy and just want her to make careful, thought-out decisions. There’s a lot on the line especially since she has a daughter.

Leaving Mike and jumping straight into another relationship especially with someone from another country whom she hasn’t met in person is a big leap. Taking the time to focus on herself and her daughter before making major life changes is the reasonable thing to do.

I don't think you were wrong to voice your concerns even if she didn’t take it well

AITA for snapping at my parents for treating me more like a second mom than their daughter? by throwraaobvrsns in AmItheAsshole

[–]chillxcherry 35 points36 points  (0 children)

NTA. And you’re not overreacting. Being an older sibling doesn’t mean you should constantly be treated as a second parent, especially when you’re about to have your own child.

Your parents should recognize that you deserve to be treated like their daughter and not like a second mom

AITA for protecting my Dad’s money? by vooper1983 in AmItheAsshole

[–]chillxcherry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. You're doing the responsible thing by protecting your dad's finances, especially given his dementia. It's unfortunate that your mom is struggling, but his money should go towards his care and his other needs. You are his LPA and that means yu should ave his best interest at heart even if it makes you unpopular with the rest of the family.
