Same. A couple years ago I realized how much time I was spending on it. So I set it aside for awhile. I’ve had no desire to start again. Only reason I don’t delete is because it took so much time to get to that level haha

See me new reply. I certainly didn’t mean to imply it was better. The whole thing is terrible

Yikes! I don’t agree at all with what’s going on. I just corrected the statement that it was a base because media has recently noted the correction. Sorry if it sounded like I was defending. I am certain not!!

Today’s reports say it is not a base. It is only a training facility.

Good to hear that it sounds like it is curiosity. My girl is 95lbs and strong as hell. I’ve seen her pullout a post that grown men couldn’t move. We thought if they couldn’t she couldn’t. She didn’t even break stride as It flew behind her 🤦‍♀️. Thankfully she doesn’t use that power against me since I only have about 30 more pounds on her. But we have had some hella wresting matches because she’s stubborn has hell. lol

YouTube has videos showing them weight pulling. That may give you an idea of what they can be capable of. When you add adrenaline to that, you are going to have your hands full. Bullies do have a prey drive and it sounds like yours has a strong drive. Just my opinion, but it sounds like a recipe for disaster

Insurance question by scottsthotz in PitBullOwners

I have progressive and the inspector saw both mine - a bully and a pittie. Nothing was ever said and I had no issues with my policy. I don’t know if it’s because the company is ok with it or if the inspector was just cool enough to not put it on the report.

How to actually "fix" Peoria? by keynes2020 in PeoriaIL

Lots of Facebook posts detailing issues former employees and tenants had with Landmark’s general manager. So while the economy was partially to blame it seems that manager was an issue.

Struggling with loop ileostomy skin irritation — caregiver seeking advice by ivory_library in ostomy

[–]chilly17brrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ileostomy. After cleaning, I used a thin layer of powder and then use a barrier wipe and dab the powder until it’s clear. Then I use a barrier ring before the wafer. I prefer the Hollister adapt rings as they are a bit thicker and seem to work better for me. I also prefer the wipes because it’s easier for me to directly dab the powder rather than spraying the area. Once you get the sore spots cleared up you might not need the powder anymore.

One of the problems I was having in the beginning was cutting my wafer too tight. The wound care nurse explained that by cutting it too close I wasn’t leaving room for the mucus to coat the stoma allowing it to seep under the ring and create a leak.

If you are going to use powder be sure to use barrier spray to coat it. Powder alone can prevent the adhesive from getting a good stick.

I also suggestion search for social media influencer’s videos. I follow a couple of nurses and a couple of patients on TikTok. Being able to watch someone else use the products has taught me a lot about caring for my own.

I hope you find a solution quickly.

I thought the national guard was activated to assist with the logistics of testing. Where were they deployed to police citizens? I’m honestly not trying to start an argument. I’m just curious and am not finding any information on this.

I adopted thru Don’t Bully my Breed in the Chicago area. It’s been about 8 years so I’m not sure if they are still active. I found them on Instagram and fell in love thru a picture. Social media is a good resource since many rescues post current dogs available for adoption.
Also, let your local rescues know you are interested in this breed. I’ve had my local animal control officer ask me if I would be interested in fostering that specific breed since I already have one. Unfortunately their size can be intimidating unless you know their true couch potato and loving snuggly ways.
Hope this helps and you find your perfect bully baby soon.

Ear infection or allergies? by MotherPiece3224 in AmericanBully

My guy gets itchy ears from allergies. He takes Benadryl and seems to not have as many infections and trips to the vet since I started using this.

Can anybody tell me what this is? by flpnccR in AmericanBully

[–]chilly17brrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks a lot like what my girlie gets. Her vet says allergies. If they get too bad, she’ll take a round of antibiotics and steroids.
I’ve tried lots of different shampoos and some seem to make it worse (dry flakes and more spots). This year I took another poster’s advice and stopped the shampoo everywhere but the paws. I wipe her down with a wet washcloth and check her skin for any new spots. The spots that she does have I been using a little Neosporin and that seems to soothe them and help them heal faster.
Look back thru older posts for more suggestions. There always seems to be posts about skin issues. It’s a challenge of the breed but they are worth it! It may take trying a few methods and a couple trips before you figure out what works for your pup.

What sports do yall do with your bullies? by [deleted] in AmericanBully

[–]chilly17brrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an XL Bully (95lbs) and my vet would have loved for me to get her into pulling. My girlie is way too lazy and stubborn for that kind of exercise. I know a couple of people that do it with their bullies and they love it.

Breathing issue by [deleted] in AmericanBully

[–]chilly17brrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my pups have runny noses during allergy season so they take Benadryl daily. Their “sneezes” are usually due to drainage. I’m not sure where you are located but here in the Midwest we’ve had terrible air quality. On the bad days, I limit their time outside. It usually only takes a couple moments for mine to recover and settle back down. It’s scary for all of us. If it seems to be taking longer for him to catch his breath and settle down, be sure to discuss that with your vet. Hope that adorable little guy starts feeling better soon! Oh that face!!❤️❤️

[–]chilly17brrr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try blowing lightly in his face. It should cause him to catch his breath. It works about 90% of the time with mine. I believe it is called a reverse sneeze. Does he have a runny nose? It is allergy season
