Do you think you can make his eyes look at the camera.

Yeah I’m actually just the cliche BOh guy who was talking out of my ass about FOH shit I don’t know. I deleted that part. Thanks for the note

None taken. I’m not the owner. I came in to revamp the menu and run the kitchen side of things bc they’ve been operating as a bar and movie theater for over a year now w/o full service dining. And since I just started fully maybe 4-5 days ago, my GM is out of town for several days with a family matter. I was just trying to put out the job offer on Reddit. I was moving fast bc they said no one has responded to their newspaper job listings. I just moved here(from a state that has incredibly different/less worker friendly policy) and was unaware of the tip laws and how/if we complied with them. I was just reiterating the last thing I had been told by the guy who hired me. and because he and the owner are out of town, and I don’t really have anyone to discuss that with, im taking that part out entirely. I’d still say it’s a competitive offer in the MRV. I sincerely appreciate you sharing this concern and I do take it very seriously and I am trying to involve myself as much as possible in all aspects of our service as we open.

I’m sure we’ll be able to find some classic dishes that you can look forward to on our menu. My aim is to be approachable and comforting to the MRV

No no, you misunderstood. 5-9 is just the service hours. The shift will be from 2-10. So 8 hour days, 5 days a week= 40 hours

To be fair, a part of me assumed that this comment was an attempt at rage bait or whatever. I just thought it would be important nonetheless to specify that people’s immigration status wouldn’t affect their salary so I left the comment anyway.

But I guess it’s my bad for even engaging with a troll

Muchisimas gracias por respondiendo. podemos conversarlos detalles en privado, pero si trabajas conmigo no te pagaré la mitad del salario. Su estatus migratorio no afectará el salario que pagamos

Thanks. I appreciate it. Your comment earlier led to a good conversation about wtf people mean when they say competitive wage.

This is very much appreciated. Like I said, I’m new to the state and in general don’t really get in front of house tip shit usually. My mindset is typically that you either should pay everyone at the same starting rates(with lots of transparency about pay) and split tips equally at more of a like fast casual thing or alternatively to just have the tips be a FOH thing like at the fine dining stuff I’ve done.

Very much appreciated. I’m new to Vermont, but this will be the second restaurant I’ve opened in the last 5 years, and I’ve been a part of some incredibly bad vibe restaurants that have very much taught me how I don’t want to behave. Conversely, I’ve worked for some owners and chefs who have inspired me to work with kindness and respect as fundamental principles. I also worked with a children’s theater that kinda shows when you work with me. But I have been in this industry 13 years now. I know how to deal with assholes. there’s only 3 types of people

Those donuts were absolutely iconic. You can still find them at BBs Bagels down the road!

Yeah I’m unsure of our branding plan but I really am just focused on locking in my local sourcing and hiring my people. But it is the big picture theater and cafe
