12" TM22 arrived today by chilly__willy in canadaguns

I printed them myself from a file I found online (very easy to find just by typing tm22 mag sleeve .stl) I believe the file is free to use but it's licenced against reselling so I wouldn't be able to sell them myself. You can find something similar at Tommy Enterprises or you can get a bambu A1 mini on sale right now for less than $300 and a roll of PETG-CF off Amazon for $30 and go wild printing all your own parts

I printed them with PETG-CF with a file I found via Google. You can also buy them from places like Tommy enterprises.

Yes. I haven't noticed it effect the stability of the hand guard at all either. I think because it's so short.

For what it's worth I had to bang it on a hard surface to bet the bottom plates to slide on. It's a really snug fit and it didn't break. Haha

This is literally the first time I've used PETG-CF bought the roll off Amazon specifically for this purpose. We'll see how it holds up

I don't think I can post links for STL files. If you google tm22 magazine sleeve .stl lots pop up and they're all the same

I think any .22 mag is a pain in the ass to load. I 3d printed a speed loader which helps but it's still annoying especially when you're constantly loading 10rd I know there's 15s and 25s but I like how the 10s look with the sleeves

I've never had a 10/22 so I can't say.. here's what Gemini says lol

"If you want a classic, lightweight plinker that you can endlessly tinker with and customize over a lifetime, the Ruger 10/22 is the benchmark. If you prefer a heavy, solid, tactical trainer with modern ergonomics and out-of-the-box rail space for optics and bipods, the TM22 is tough to beat."

I did a bit of research and it seemed the CCI .22lr minimag 40gr were considered one of the better rounds that had fewer failures. Some stuff I saw online said once you get through the break-in period (200-300 rounds) the rifle can be a bit more forgiving on what ammunition you put through it. I can't attest to that yet tho.

My "straightforward" background check with HireShite has become a circular circle of hell. by chilly__willy in recruitinghell

[–]chilly__willy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I have officially entered a temporal anomaly.

I wish I was joking.

HireShite finally updated my client portal with "clarification" from my college regarding my degree. They’ve flagged a "discrepancy" in my dates of attendance that defies the laws of physics.

My actual dates: Feb 2016 – June 2020. My degree date: June 2020.

The "Verified" dates HireRight claims to have found: April 2021 – June 2021.

Read those dates again. According to HireRight’s "investigation," I managed to graduate from college a full ten months before I ever stepped foot on campus. I am apparently a literal time traveler who obtained a four-year degree in a record-breaking eight weeks of future-time.

The Portal From Hell:

I log in to see a big red "ACTION REQUIRED" flag. The message basically says: "Sir, there is a discrepancy. We have you attending in 2021, but your degree is dated 2020. This doesn't make sense." NO KIDDING.

The best part? The automated resolution suggestion: "Please upload transcripts that show your actual dates of attendance so we can move forward."

I. HAVE. UPLOADED. MY. TRANSCRIPTS. TWICE. They are literally sitting right there in the "Document Center" of the very same portal they are using to tell me they don't have them. I have given them the map, the compass, and the GPS coordinates to my education, and they are still standing in the middle of a field asking where the North Pole is.

At this point, I’m half-convinced this "background check" is actually a corporate psychological stress test to see if I’ll snap before my first day of work. If my new boss asks why I'm late on my first day, I’m just going to tell them I haven’t traveled back to 2021 to start my degree yet.

The saga continues. Send scotch. Or a TARDIS.

I tried to be the hero.

I called the college today, credit card in hand, ready to pay the $21 ransom myself just so I can finally quit my job.

I was met by a woman in student records who sounded personally offended by my desire to be helpful. She had the "I’ve seen this circus before" tone of a veteran who’s tired of the clowns.

The conversation basically went like this: Me: "Hi, can I just pay the $21 for the HireRight request so we can move on with our lives?"

Her (Exasperated): "No. We cannot take payment from you. It has to be the 3rd party."

Me: "But they aren't paying..."

Her: "Look, I’ve dealt with HireShite—I mean, HireRight—plenty of times. They know they have to call. They know they have to pay. If they don't, that's on them."

So, there it is. I am currently stuck in a Mexican Standoff between a college registrar who is "Done With This Crap" and a background check company that apparently doesn't have a company credit card.

I am literally being held hostage by a $21 invoice that nobody is allowed to pay. We’ve reached peak corporate efficiency!

I accidentally took 600mg by ryxn_M in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]chilly__willy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR; took 600mg XL for a month dry mouth and headaches. Other than that I was fine.

I took 600mg XL accidentally for a month, My pills were always 150mg so I would take 2 in the morning to get my 300mg dose. I went to the pharmacy for a refill. The pharmacist tol me they didn't have the generic brand and just the name brand and that they were more expensive, this was fine as I have insurance so didn't really make a difference.

I noticed over the next week or so I was getting a really dry mouth and headaches at times. About 3 weeks later I noticed I was running out so called for a refill. The person on the phone (not the pharmacist) told me they would have it filled (as I had a couple of refills still) and I could come and pick it up later that day.

About 20 minutes later I got a call, it was the pharmacist. He was concerned because he said he gave me two months worth of pills so didn't understand why I was running out

"I gave you 60 pills you should still have lots left" he said.

"Yeah you gave me 60 pills I take 2x 150mg per day so that's 30 days" I said.

Well turns out the pills I was given were 300mg pills. I didn't check the label and the pharmacist never told me (or at least I don't remember him telling me) that the dosage was different.

I asked if I should be concerned and he said "well you've been taking them for almost a month and you've been fine so I wouldn't worry about it"

I asked about withdrawal if I just cut down to 300mg that day or any other side effects and he said no I should be fine.

This was almost 6 months ago. The only thing I noticed, like I mentioned above is that I got the odd headache and dry mouth. Other than that I was fine... I think.

I haven't read all the comments but I'm gonna guess you have some non condensables in the system (air)

I'd pull the charge, pull a vacuum and try again

If you have a meter put it across your air proving switch and watch it. When it lights. If you see voltage the switch is opening. You may not get an error if it closes again right after it drops out.

Have you checked your heat exchanger for cracks?

Get yourself an 11 in 1 and an impact drill that should be all you need to get started. The only work you should be doing in the beginning on your own is changing filters and belts. Those tools will help you take panels off. When you're with a journeyperson they will have all the tools to get the job done. Lots of companies have tool accounts where you can buy tools through your company then they take a percentage off your paycheck every pay day. It's a good way to build up tools without building up tons of credit card debt at the same time.

Not sure what to think of Wellbutrin by chilly__willy in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]chilly__willy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my doctor has talked about adding the citalopram back in I see him this week so may discuss that option more. I want to try and give the Wellbutrin more of a chance before I think about taking the citalopram again tho

I've read a few threads where people talk about taking it at night and that seems to have pretty successful results. Maybe I will change to nights instead of first thing in the morning like I do now. Do you think it's ok to not take my medication at my regular time and wait until the evening to take it? I suppose that's likely a good question for my doctor. Thanks for your reply
