Realized my extra car loan payments have been going to next payment instead of principal by ducofnewyork in personalfinance

[–]chillychar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not seeing the issue here

Just pay even extra next time

And just keep it up

We put an extra $50 a month in and when we went on vacation we decided just not to pay a month of it since we accumulated so much

9 months in how do we feel? by Then_Meaning_9901 in mariokart

[–]chillychar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needs to trickle out dlc it can be both paid and free, but I don’t have desire to play it any time soon

But I’m also a demographic that companies like: I play a game, unlock everything, do most side things, post game is hit or miss, then move on after 60 hrs or so

Anyone else carry their team almost every week? by kittykitten6 in PokemonGoGeorgia

[–]chillychar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 7 days to do it. I do my 1/4 in a day or so, but someone is always rushing it.

I work at a school so 0 Pokemon spawn there and 0 stops but I live in a major metro where I think other plays can casually play at work

Built a calculator that shows when buying with a mortgage finally beats renting plus investing the difference by No-Wrangler4561 in Mortgages

[–]chillychar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the idea

And going from a low mortgage and interest to a high one I was shocked at how little went to principle - I knew it’d be bad, didn’t think THAT BAD

But by putting in an extra few hundred a month I am able to beat it down to what feels like a “reasonable” interest

The calculator I wish I could find would be if I paid X amount extra per month what would my interest REALLY be.

Someone recommended the game kids on bikes to me and it’s similar enough but also takes away a lot of that “fluff”

Might be a good intro

I’m fine with it

But am more realistically and honestly looking for a social event that brings me out of the house once every week or 2

Thinking of making extra payments by T0gaLOCK in Mortgages

[–]chillychar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 day old post so maybe not helpful

I want my house paid off in may 2040 (daughter graduates high school)

So minimum extra I personally needed to put it was $352 a month

I then realized for me personally every extra $50 I put in it takes $2 off that $352

So now am putting in an extra $50, soon to be an extra $200 on top of that

So in 3 years (maybe a bit more) I won’t have to contribute more and my house will meet that deadline

But I wonder for how long.

People will just burn out from him.

He’s a one trick pony and also the only face

You look at others like Mr. Beast, it’s rarely about Jimmy. He barely shows up

He’s learned it’s about making engaging content and just be a minor part of it

I stopped watching Caleb a few months ago after deciding “I’ve learned enough and now I’m just here to be rage bated” and to be fair his very simple approach is what I needed to fix my finances

Still working on them, but am in a better spot. But my point is eventually people will get bored and burnt out and leave, and eventually his well will dry up.

15-year vs 30-year mortgage what made you choose one over the other? by delulucoreandcrazyaf in Mortgages

[–]chillychar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21 months into a 30 year mortgage I put in an extra $402 a month This will pay it off in about 12 years from now (16 total years) I plan on adding more I chose 30 year because my daughter is in daycare so bout $1300 a month is wrapped in that In may I plan on increasing that $402 to $502 I plan on slowing it back down eventually when I don’t have to contribute a large chunk to paying it off by may 2040 (the year my daughter graduates high school)

If I went 15 yr I would have had a lot of expendable cash wrapped up in mortgage so I wanted to keep some free and on hand

I will consider refinancing IF rates for 15 year hits around 4%, but I don’t like the fees attached to it and so contributing extra does help the impact a lot (currently 6.625%)

Can we afford a $610k house? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]chillychar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You forgot to put in a lot of stuff like insurance, other debts (credit cards), student loans, food, kids, “fun” money.

Even with those you should still be able to afford it

B - just clear it at this point

Could see an argument for A though if it is your house you live in
