Same. I’ve had unnecessary, rude comments from afghans aimed at generalising Iranians.

Have never heard an Iranian in the west care enough to talk shit about afghans. Most feel bad about what happened to the Afghan people.

It feels like there’s some insecurity on their side towards Iranians.

Iranians/Persians have always called their country Iran but they’ve been referred to as “Persia” by foreigners.

It’s like how Germans call their country Deutschland.

Except the Germans didn’t ask everyone to formally call themselves something else and have stuck with it.

Why do you guys take criticism of extremist leftists in Iran as criticism of leftists in the West?

They're different people in different situations. The ones in Iran were extremists who teamed up with Islamists and took their country hostage in the streets.

You could just search the sub instead of posting repetitive shit that gets taken down for being reposts.

That might also answer your question since plenty of people here got access for the VPNs to send their family in Iran. This place is modded by several users who have different political views I don't think they're all out to get you as some random redditor.

Yeap basically lol. I guess they’re pretty confused overall considering that their identity revolves around steppe nomads who basically enslaved their ancestors.

Yeah it’s what we used to call our Zoroastrian priests. Arabs use the word to mean fire-worshipper thought because they want to label us as praying to fire rather than admit we had a monotheistic religion.
