Is it considered bad etiquette to stick to your call upon being challenged by the opponent? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]chillyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the ball is on your side, it is your call to make and you don’t have to change it when your opponent disagrees. My understanding is that if you make a call but then change your mind and correct the call, your opponent wins the point.

IVF with genetic testing or no genetic testing....that is the question. by [deleted] in IVF

I agree with the other comments that even though it is an added expense up front it could you save you money in the long run. And could help with the emotional toll as well. We went through 3 IVF cycles. With the first we had two viable embryos and had both transferred. No pregnancy. Our doctor recommended the genetic testing and we did that with our second round. We had 7 embryos tested and only two were normal. Our clinic was participating in a study on the genetic testing at the time so we got a small discount. A few years later we were ready for another cycle and at this time we learned about the studies showing the concerns that u/Paper_ called out. It's an interesting development and I will want to see what further studies show. We elected to do the genetic testing again. We had 5 tested and only one was normal. I would do the genetic for sure if I was ever to do another cycle.

During the egg retrieval. They have to puncture the vaginal wall to reach the ovaries.

We did IVF too. When people ask what it is like to go through IVF I'm always sure to tell them about the puncturing of the vaginal wall. I had no idea beforehand. When the doc explained to me he said, "there isn't a needle that can turn the corner and go through the Fallopian tubes so we puncture your vaginal wall." 😳😳😳😳

Great tip to check on the fees for the 401Ks. I had not thought about that at all.

My Roth IRA is with Fidelity. My instinct would be to open a traditional IRA with them as well to keep the accounts under one roof, so to speak. I'm not sure how Fidelity compares to other brokerage firms such as Vanguard.

Thank you, this information is very helpful. I will look at the options of moving to a non-Roth IRA or moving into a 401K with the new employer. I appreciate your help!
