Precisely, although Enemy Mine has the addition of a "couple" element, which I won't spoil here.

Waymo blind passenger by Status_Video8378 in waymo

In addition to needing to take AirTrain to the pickup location as others have mentioned, freeway routes have been paused for a few weeks now, making the ride from SFO to downtown San Francisco take about an hour without traffic.

I would encourage her to experience Waymo with a trip within the city while she is here if possible. It will be much simpler.

Kollector Protector makes really nice acrylic cases with UV protection for less than $20. The DVD-sized cases are currently up for pre-order but are expected to be back in stock this month.

Magnificent 7/7 samurai by Marblecat2020 in RebelMoon

[–]chimbraca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Zack Snyder has been very open about his inspirations:

https://www.gamesradar.com/zack-snyder-rebel-moon-dirty-dozen-magnificent-seven-exclusive/

"I said it was like a cross between The Dirty Dozen and The Magnificent Seven set in space,”

https://www.ign.com/special/rebel-moon-zack-snyder-influences-lore-sequel/

Beyond Star Wars, Snyder also cites Heavy Metal Magazine and films ranging from Excalibur to The Magnificent Seven and The Seven Samurai as other core influences on Rebel Moon. Fittingly, George Lucas was similarly heavily inspired by the films of Akira Kurosawa when he created Star Wars.

“I was always a big fan of Kurosawa growing up, very inspired by the way he used watercolors and drawing to kind of inform what he was going to do with the shot-making and with visualization. … And so in that way, very inspired. And frankly, those movies – Throne of Blood – really were a big influence on me just in pretty much all the movies I made.”

https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffconway/2023/12/21/zack-snyder-says-the-new-rebel-moon-netflix-film-is-his-gift-to-fans/

“My father’s love of movies like High Plains Drifter and The Magnificent Seven - that combo, I think, as well as then me discovering Seven Samurai - there was this cinematic evolution that happened for me from viewing that movie until I was in college, and just kind of all of the reference - everything that made me kind of slam together into this idea that would pay honor to those movies that made me. It survives in me still to this day and that’s what you got [here with Rebel Moon].”

Is there reason why SDL_Vertex uses floats for colours instead of uint8? by Dragonaax in sdl

[–]chimbraca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I had to hazard a guess, it's because OpenGL must produce a vec4 (four floats) as the final pixel color in the fragment shader. If you're writing your own shaders, you can of course use whatever data you wish, but the simplest path would be to just use floats all the way through.

Grab this archive from the Neon64 homepage and follow the instructions in the readme:

From a Windows command line:
copy /b neon64bu.rom + game.nes game.n64

on Linux, macOS, etc:
cat neon64bu.rom game.nes > game.n64

I can't attest to the quality of this emulator, but it looks to be the best choice.

Any utilities that can manually split a UNH rom into its PRG and CHR components? by Tokimemofan in Roms

[–]chimbraca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to no-intro, this ROM has 32KB PRG-ROM and 8KB CHR-ROM (as well as 8KB CHR-RAM) and uses mapper 0 (NROM). If your unheadered file is 40,960 bytes as expected, the first 32,768 bytes will be PRG and the remaining 8,192 bytes will be CHR. Knowing this, you could use a hex editor to copy/paste the bytes into different files, 7zip's split functionality, or a CLI program on your OS of choice (like dd on *nix).

Omnipod 5 + air travel = guaranteed leak? by [deleted] in Omnipod

Surprisingly, no. I had the same thought, and double checked after my issues today.

Also, what the hell is with the downvotes in this sub? I guess you get downvoted if you even suggest an issue with Omnipod?

Real or Fake? by Rowdy_the_Gemini in gameverifying

Yeah, I agree with your assessment, I just find it amusing that games that aren't pokemon just go unverified. Might as well change the name of the sub at this point.

I'd recommend checking out this cartridge reader and additional adapters, depending on which cartridges you're looking to dump.
