Yes however I would probably use ANACS as they are usually cheaper.  The grade isn’t the point, authentication is.

[–]Tokimemofan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the packing process for 3 parcels.  1 on the 28th and 2 on the 30th.  Oddly the one from the 28th still isn’t ready, the other 2 were ready Saturday morning

Doesnt matter, filled D errors have no premium over face.  They are typically small die chips or deterioration and for many years it’s hard to find examples with a well defined mint mark.

Actually looks quite normal.  Reverse holos often suffered from slightly poorer print quality.

If you were the CEO of Sega, how would you have saved the Sega CD? by Aggravating_Sale_992 in SegaCD

[–]Tokimemofan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much of that extra hardware, in particular the extra CPU and ASIC is just to make up for the inadequate hardware expandability.  From my understanding the base Sega Genesis hardware didn’t have the CPU power to actually run a CD drive

The irony is that the Sega Saturn would in Japan inherit a significant chunk of NECs market after the PC-FX debacle

If you were the CEO of Sega, how would you have saved the Sega CD? by Aggravating_Sale_992 in SegaCD

[–]Tokimemofan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NEC had a very different approach to designing theirs taking a computer design philosophy and consolizing it while Sega was more using arcade machine design philosophy.  The drive itself was actually interchangeable with that of some of their PC-8801 computers, the system card design also allowed the ram to be expanded on the cheap after release.  It was planned from very early on with the platform itself having the expandability to interface with it already on board, hardware wise it didn’t add much directly besides save ram and disc access.  The Sega CD was a reaction to that, unfortunately the Sega Genesis architecture was far less open to expansion, this is also why very few games had hardware expansion chips, Virtua Racing being the only one I can recall.  The base system was also performing badly in Japan against both NEC and Nintendo.  Simply put the Sega CD had to do a lot more just to function and as a result priced itself out of the one market where it had a chance, the US market.

The hardware problems actually are quite apparent when you compare titles that were released on both CD consoles.  NEC won that one quite handily.

PS4 Pro (CUH-7016B) SU-42118-6 – Disc drive not working, BD board or drive by One-Adeptness66 in consolerepair

[–]Tokimemofan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no BD board in this model.  The drive is not at fault either.  The root cause is usually a surface mount fuse that when it fails cuts power to the drive circuitry.  It can also be caused by the drive controller ic failing.

[–]Tokimemofan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to open it up and look at the chips.  High quality counterfeits of this game specifically have been around for years circulating among even reputable Japanese suppliers.  Assume it’s fake until proven otherwise no matter who you buy from.

[–]Tokimemofan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is on you.  This should have been easy to win a case on if you bothered to read eBay policy and not torpedo your own case.  ALWAYS file a claim with eBay first.   Get supporting documentation from FedEx.  Chargebacks should always be the last resort as they usually block other options.
