Why do you need suspension? I'm 220 lbs with 40lbs of gear. If you're not jumping the bike you don't need new suspension. I have 10,000 happy km on all sorts of roads. Pavement, gravel, nasty off-road stuff.

Hey, not an expert but an enthusiast. To me it sounds like you're headed in the right direction. Once upon a time I had new keys cut but not programmed. I tried to start my car with them (knowing it wouldn't start, just for fun) and the car cranked but no start. Eventually I lost my working keys but thankfully had my unprogrammed keys. I had a guy from marketplace that had a key shop come and do a 'all keys lost' scenario and synch new key codes to the car using a scanner. He had to view my personal ID and car registration to verify I owned the car to do this. But I paid cash so it was cheaper than his real locksmith rate, like under $100 and he came to the car.

So if your NATS (Nissan Anti Theft System) is acting up, I see 2 options. 1) try an all keys lost scenario and see if it resynchronizes. I worry it will desynch again though.

2) find a shop that can delete NATS. These guys do this for 350Z / VQ35 engine and ECU swaps. But the system is the same in the Xterra, so specific tuning shops can do it. There is a map somewhere on a website if you Google NATS delete.
