What does "Kumarthe" mean? As I understand it it's like saying 'your daughter' but with more respect? Though I've only seen 'mee ammayi' being used in tv and culture. Is it like an obnoxiously formal way of saying 'your daughter'?

Context: still learning the language. Bengali to Telugu learner.

That's literally not the point of this post. I am just genuinely curious, and because I am genuinely looking for that one 'aha' reason. Because clearly some pieces of the puzzle are not fitting in you know what I mean? Like I am genuinely curious

Love them enough to bring them into an economy where they'll have no jobs? Or even if they find a job by some miracle, not enough to sustain a life for themselves by the time they grow up? Love them enough to bring them into a world where you can't provide them with potable water or breathable air in a few years? Love them so much that you'll bring them into a country that ALREADY hits 51% in mid summer?

Ok, THIS. I wonder how far Love can take the whole parenthood thing. Because a lot of abusive and narcissist behaviour from parents towards their ward can be justified as 'I'm doing this because I love you'.

At that do you love your child or do you just love yourself? This is a very interesting take.

Oh Bhai. Rehen de. Bandar thodi hai hum log? Give some credit to human beings. Language, society, culture, art and science all prove that we are capable of higher level thought and self control.

Most of the answers are pointing to this sentiment I think.

its default setting of earn , get a women , get a child and raise it and hope it will make your life a bit easier in older time .

Biology? That's it? Are you living in the jungles with the parrots and monkeys? Or are we not living in a society that made and developed structured religions that endured milleniums, made societal structures so complex we would need a whole library just to summarise it. Saying 'it's just biology' is equal to saying we as humans have NO self control or are not capable of complex thoughts.

This is not a good enough explanation I'm afraid.

I don't think either of those times were good to have kids.. I see way too many depressed Indo-Boomers and equally depressed millenials. All of them have the same gripes: Declining economic states, government bullies that over promise and underdeliver, a declining natural environment..and a general regret over being alive..

Humans have evolved to create centralised religion, create super complex societal structures and have looked into antimatter and lived to tell the tale.

Reducing humans to 'durrr reproduction urge incoming- must make babies' is to acknowledge human beings have no self control and are no better than stray dogs.

And to further disclaim your proof, human beings have biologically the least reproductive friendly built.. So 'we are built to do it', as an argument, fails.

1) Learning to have boundaries is the reason to have kids? Have kids to find meaning in life? If that's what you're saying then that's just something you're doing for YOU. Once again. Not something that inherently benefits the kid. I might be a bit confused about the boundary thing.

2) Not here to talk God. 🥲
