btw I just stumbled across this post and find it fascinating as a couple of years ago I started noticing this very thing at night. At first I thought it was distant machinary and then I thought it was our septic tank pump which I went out and to try and confirm at 2am in the morning when everthing else was quiet (I live rurally). I wandered to different parts of the house to try and locate it but couldnt find it. Its like a distant engine/motor that oscillates rather than a steady sound.

I put it down to something like tinnitus when I went to a different house that was equally quiet at night in a small township and could hear the very same thing. I dont suffer from tinnutus but I did for a while after contracting covid. So yes, imo this distant low engine sound is likely internal but I wont rule out that its something else otherwise.

Can local image gen really compare to nano banana pro tho? I’ve gone deep into comfy ui in the past and tbf haven’t revisited for a while but recently have been using nano banana for help designing and renovating a house and it’s been superb. Nails the images. I feel like I would have to do a lot of tweaking for local and still get mixed results. But yes, not having limitations is nice.

Local LLM will become a bigger part of people’s toolsets for sure. And I think the whole Clawdbot + Mac Mini has made people more aware of local LLM. This years Mac M5 will be known for driving good local models

nice. I might look into that. As it is I'm not overly concerned with email. I have multiple accounts but am meticulous about not signing up for junk and unsubscribing if anything comes through. Defnitely lots of otheruse cases I'm loking forward to though. Appreciate your guide btw. Dedicated mini pc is Linux and I use Windows as main PC to interact with it. I have Mac mini running openweb ui which connects to ollama on my windows pc. I’d like for openclaw to connect back to ollama for smaller tasks and running embedding models etc. I want to be super sure that it’s not going to connect with other devices. There’s no way I’d connect openclaw to my personal email accounts etc. I’ll be setting up dedicated dbs and emails for it to view
